Chapter 72 - Chapter 72: Taking Pictures, What Are You Waiting For!

Whether an MV is good or not doesn't just depend on the filming. The editing is just as important, maybe even more so.

And that is editing.

After Nao sent over all the footage.

The next few days.

Natsuhiko put all his energy into the post-production work.

More important than the story, characters, and theme is how the shots, taken from different angles, positions, and inspirations, are put together.

This isn't just putting together words, pictures, or music. It's what makes "images" an art form.

Creating something that spans time and space is key.

The camera collects countless seeds of images. Post-production makes the finished work.

"Hey, Hiko. What do you think of this scene? I think we can cut a little more from this full shot from far away."

In a relaxed cafe.

Shinomiya Kaguya put down her homework, moved her chair next to Natsuhiko, and started giving her opinion.

Seeing this, Fujiwara Chika, not wanting to be left out, came over as if to challenge her.

The two had finally finished their long family meetings and, with no club activities, showed up at the agreed-upon cafe.

After meeting, the two started doing homework, acting out of character. He, left to himself, could only pull out his computer and continue the post-production work.

Finally, Shinomiya Kaguya, who was pretending to do homework, couldn't help but jump in first and give her opinion on the scenes.

If others saw this, they would definitely think she was a professional.

Natsuhiko shook his head, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"No. This is needed to pull the point of view back all at once, to bring together the overall feeling so it can lead into the ending."

"That's not it! I know what you're thinking, but making it shorter will make it hit harder!"

"Hey, hey, can you guys be nice? Hiko, Kaguya, if you two keep messing around, I'm going to flip the table!"

Seeing the two ignoring her, deep in discussion.

Fujiwara Chika casually summed up the two and joined the lively discussion, but only pretended to stop them.

Both had been exposed to art and humbly offered some suggestions, which Natsuhiko selectively used.

"And Kotobuki Tsumugi sings this really well."

Fujiwara Chika hummed softly, her shoulders moving.

"It was supposed to be a sad song, but it became like a warm, sunny feeling. It has a nice taste, and even the pigeons flew over."

"And this, 'Eloim Essaim Eloim Essaim, please listen to my request,' also feels good!"

Chika, as expected, liked the song. The bit about "Eloim Essaim" was just a jab at Miyazono Kaori's little habit before singing.

"Don't you think it feels like magic?"

Natsuhiko glanced at her and gently replied.

"Is this the Miyazono Kaori who you said once saw you play the piano?"

Fujiwara Chika suddenly asked.

Natsuhiko nodded, already used to Chika's random questions.

"Miyazono Kaori from the K-On club, which is in the same club as me."

"But Hiko, I didn't know you would make MVs for other people."

Kaguya wiggled her body, pushing Natsuhiko away from where he was sitting, and split the earphones with Chika. It looked like she wanted to watch it again.

The production was finished.

Natsuhiko himself was pretty happy with it, so he gave the chance for the two to watch freely!

He made this using all sorts of spare time. It's been several days since the filming ended.

"It's over—" Shinomiya Kaguya sighed softly.

"Wow, that was amazing... I'm surprised."

Fujiwara Chika made a clapping gesture, but didn't make much noise.

Kaguya glanced at Chika and clapped her hand.

Kaguya smiled.

"I have a feeling this MV will be very successful, maybe even a masterpiece."

Natsuhiko responded with a modest smile.

Kaguya clicked around with the wireless mouse.

"...we've been busy with class these past few days, busy with meetings, busy with stuff, but Hiko here has been very free."

Not that he's really been free.

"Filming in my free time, but I can't control my hands."

"Yeah, yeah."

The two stared blankly at the computer screen that had already finished playing. They just sat there, not moving. After a while, they came back to their senses and glared at Natsuhiko.

Hearing this sound.

Natsuhiko knew something was up.

They must have watched the full video that Tomori Nao had filmed.

He could only make a "hahaha" sound to hide the fact that it was already done.

Instantly, tears welled up in Kaguya's wine-red eyes, and the blush on her face hadn't faded at all.

"Kaguya?"

Chika looked a little flustered at the sad Kaguya.

"Hiko, you went too far."

Then, as if wanting to hold back her overwhelming sadness, she balled her hands into fists and started wiping away tears.

"Why would you do such a terrible thing to us? That's too much, Hiko!"

Kaguya gently shook her head.

Making Natsuhiko think, "Did I really do something wrong?"

Of course not.

As the one walking in front for Kaguya.

He had seen long ago that Kaguya had used a skill called "maiden's tears (cheating)." Simply put, Shinomiya Kaguya was secretly hiding eye drops near her chest and using other movements to hide that she was putting them in her eyes to fake crying.

However, he had to play along.

"No, that's not it—"

"Are you sure? You've never taken a picture with me, and you must have watched that MV many times."

"Tsk, tsk, Hiko—!"

Chika also saw through it, but was fanning the flames from the side.

But, it does seem like a big mistake.

Other than the photo booth picture with Mai, it seems like Natsuhiko has never taken a photo with anyone else.

Natsuhiko reached out and held Kaguya's shoulders.

"Ah, other than photos, we're also going to make a movie of ourselves. I'm the main character, and you're all the main actresses."

Kaguya finally achieved her goal.

She turned her acting face around.

At this time, Natsuhiko and Chika, comforting Kaguya, each had their arm around Kaguya's shoulders.

"Taking pictures, what are you waiting for, Chika."

Natsuhiko gave this order.

Chika, who hadn't wiped away her eye drops, saw both of their phones in front of her.

Click.

The scene was frozen.

"..."

Seeing the precious photo being saved, Natsuhiko and Chika smiled at each other, feeling like they understood each other.

You have to know,

They had never seen Kaguya cry before. Even if it's fake, it's still a photo worth saving!

"Hiko! Chika!... I'm so mad..."

"Did you see the eye drops?"

"That was fake, fake! You understand? Delete the picture!"

Three stages of anger.

"No, you're so cute."

Kaguya saw the scene in the photo.

Natsuhiko and Chika were holding her, and she was smiling with tears in her eyes in the middle.

What the heck is this!

Kaguya felt like she had been cruelly tricked. She won the battle, but lost the war. It was without a doubt a big failure.
