Chapter 27 - Chapter 27:- Pampering

The girls started gossiping excitedly, crowding around Min-seok and Mi-Kyung.

Eun-ji, still perched in Min-seok's lap, bounced a little. "Tell us everything! Did you really make couples fight?"

Mi-Kyung laughed, covering her face. "We didn't mean to!"

Soo-min grinned. "We heard from a friend who saw a post online—some tourist couple arguing because the girlfriend said, 'Why can't you kiss me like that guy kisses his wife?'

Apparently the boyfriend got mad and they stormed off. It went viral on social media—people were tagging it 'Paris Couple Wars' and 'The Kiss That Broke Paris.'

Everyone was saying the city of love turned into the city of fights because of one couple who were just too perfect!"

Hye-jin giggled. "And another one said the whole boat ride turned into a fight fest because everyone was comparing their partners to this super romantic couple!

Someone even posted a blurry photo of two people dancing on the Seine deck, and the caption was 'Is this the couple that ruined everyone's relationship?' Were you guys the ones they were talking about?"

Eun-ji clapped her hands, bouncing even more in Min-seok's lap. "That's amazing! You're like love superheroes! You go to Paris and accidentally start romance wars! Oppa, you're famous now! The destroyer of bad boyfriends!"

Ji-yeon smiled softly. "It's because you two are so… real. People see it and remember what they're missing. That's powerful."

Min-seok shrugged modestly, but his arm tightened around Mi-Kyung. "We were just being ourselves."

Mi-Kyung leaned into him. "And we had so much fun doing it. We fed stray cats and dogs every day—there was this one little orange cat near the Seine who followed us for three blocks because Min-seok kept giving him bits of croissant.

We bought ice cream for a group of kids who lost their ball in a tree—Min-seok climbed up to get it, and I handed out cones to celebrate.

We helped an old couple whose card wouldn't work at a café—Min-seok quietly paid their bill and treated them like his own parents. Everywhere we went, we just… tried to make people smile. And it worked. Strangers hugged us, thanked us, told us we made their day better."

Soo-min's eyes softened. "That sounds exactly like you, Oppa. You always find ways to help."

Hye-jin nodded. "It's contagious. I can feel it even hearing about it. My oppa is very contagious with his kindness."

Eun-ji hugged Min-seok tighter. "You're the best. Both of you. I'm so happy you're home."

Ji-yeon reached over and squeezed Mi-Kyung's hand. "Thank you for bringing him back to us. And for being part of us now."

The room filled with warmth—laughter, teasing, shared sweets, and the quiet comfort of family reunited. Min-seok sat in the center, surrounded by the people who loved him most, Mi-Kyung at his side, hand on his knee.

Then Min-seok stood up. "I'm going to cook dinner. Everyone's favorites."

The girls cheered loudly, clapping and bouncing in excitement. Mi-Kyung smiled and stood too, linking her arm with his.

"Let me help," she said softly. "We'll make it together."

Min-seok's eyes warmed. "I'd love that."

They disappeared into the kitchen side by side. Soon the house filled with the comforting smells of home-cooking—garlic sizzling, sesame oil popping, rice steaming, spices blooming.

Mi-Kyung chopped vegetables while Min-seok stirred pots, their movements easy and in sync, like they'd been cooking together for years. Every few minutes he'd lean over to kiss her temple or brush her hair back; she'd smile up at him, stealing quick pecks while stirring.

They prepared vegetarian versions of each sister's favorite:

- For Soo-min: her beloved spicy kimchi jjigae, loaded with extra soft tofu, mushrooms, zucchini, and green onions—rich, tangy, comforting.

- For Hye-jin: bulgogi-style stir-fry but made with king oyster mushrooms and tofu, caramelized onions, bell peppers, and a sweet-savory marinade that filled the kitchen with irresistible aroma.

- For Eun-ji: crispy fried veggies made from cauliflower florets coated in sweet-spicy gochujang sauce—golden, crunchy, addictive.

- For Ji-yeon: warm, comforting gamjatang-inspired stew using potatoes, cabbage, perilla leaves, green onions, and shiitake mushrooms in a hearty vegetable broth—soul-soothing and full of umami.

When everything was ready, they carried the trays out to the living room. Min-seok sat in the middle of the floor on a big cushion. The four sisters immediately swarmed him: Soo-min and Hye-jin sat on either side, pressing close against his shoulders; Eun-ji climbed onto his lap facing him, legs draped over his right thighs; Ji-yeon sat on his left thigh, leaning against his chest.

Mi-Kyung sat in front of him, close enough that their legs touched, smiling at the sight.

Min-seok picked up a spoon and started feeding them one by one, hand-feeding each bite with gentle care.

First Soo-min. He scooped a spoonful of the bubbling kimchi jjigae, blowing on it softly before bringing it to her lips. "Open wide."

She did, eyes closing in bliss as she tasted it. "Perfect, Oppa… just like always," she said, voice thick with emotion. She leaned her head on his shoulder while chewing, hand resting on his arm.

Next Hye-jin. He fed her a piece of the mushroom bulgogi, making sure she got plenty of caramelized onion. She moaned happily, chewing slowly. "This is heaven… thank you, Oppa." She hugged his side tighter, cheek against his shoulder.

Eun-ji, on his lap, opened her mouth wide like a baby bird. "Me! Me next!" she demanded playfully. Min-seok laughed and fed her a piece of the crispy cauliflower veggies.

She pretended to bite his fingers, giggling. "So yummy! You're the best cook ever!" She snuggled closer, arms around his neck.

Ji-yeon leaned forward, smiling softly. Min-seok fed her a spoonful of the hearty vegetable gamjatang stew. She savored it, eyes closing. "This… this is exactly what I needed," she whispered. "Thank you, Min-seok-ah." She rested her head on his chest right over his heart, hand on his chest, content.

After feeding all four, Min-seok looked at Mi-Kyung with a tender smile. "Your turn, love."

She opened her mouth happily, letting him feed her a bite of everything. Between bites, she leaned in to kiss him softly, tasting the flavors on his lips.

Then the sisters turned on him.

Soo-min grabbed a spoon. "Our turn!" She fed him a bite of jjigae, smiling when he hummed in approval.

Hye-jin took the bulgogi spoon, feeding him carefully. "You deserve this too."

Eun-ji giggled, feeding him a piece of crispy cauliflower. "Open wide, Oppa!"

Ji-yeon fed him the stew last, her touch gentle. "You always take care of us… now we take care of you."

Mi-Kyung joined in, feeding him the last bite with a loving smile.

They ate like that—surrounded, loved, hands feeding and being fed—until every bowl was empty and every heart was full.

The room glowed with warmth, laughter, and the simple, profound joy of family. Min-seok sat in the center, surrounded by the people who loved him most, Mi-Kyung at his side, hand on his knee.

After dinner, the living room was warm with the lingering scent of spices and laughter. The trays were cleared, but no one wanted to move yet—everyone was still buzzing from the food, the stories, and the simple joy of being together again.

Eun-ji, still comfortably perched in Min-seok's lap like she belonged there, suddenly bounced up and down with barely contained excitement, making him grunt playfully as he steadied her.

"Oppa! Oppa!" she chirped, grabbing his face in both hands to make him look at her. "When do we get our dates? You promised! You said before going to Paris that you'd take each of us out one by one!"

The other three sisters perked up instantly.

Soo-min sat up straighter, eyes bright. "Yeah, Oppa—you can't tease us like that and not follow through."

Hye-jin leaned forward, resting her chin on her hands with a teasing grin. "I've been waiting patiently. Don't make me fight Eun-ji for first place."

Ji-yeon smiled softly but nodded in agreement. "We all missed you… and we want our special time too."

Min-seok laughed—a deep, warm sound that made everyone smile wider. He gently lifted Eun-ji off his lap and set her beside him so he could stand up.

"Alright, alright," he said, holding up his hands in surrender. "I thought about this. I want it to be fair—no fighting, no favorites."

He walked to the small table near the window and picked up four plain wooden chopsticks he'd prepared earlier. Each had a small piece of tape wrapped around one end, hiding a number from 1 to 4 written underneath.

He held them out in a loose bundle. "Pick one. The number decides the order. No peeking."

The girls immediately crowded around him like excited puppies, giggling and shoving each other playfully.

"Me first!" Eun-ji declared, reaching out—but Soo-min swatted her hand away gently.

"Eldest first," Soo-min said with mock authority, then winked at Min-seok. She closed her eyes dramatically, felt around, and pulled one stick. She peeled the tape slowly, revealing the number 3.

"Third!" she announced, pretending to be disappointed but smiling. "Not bad. I can wait."

Hye-jin went next, biting her lip in concentration. She picked, peeled, and gasped happily. "Number 1! I'm first!"

Eun-ji pouted. "No fair!"

Ji-yeon went third, calm and graceful. She pulled her stick, peeled it, and smiled softly. "Number 2. Right after Hye-jin."

Eun-ji bounced on her toes. "Last one! Gimme!" She snatched the final stick, tore the tape off, and squealed. "Number 4! I'm last… but that means I get the longest wait… which means the best date, right, Oppa?"

Min-seok laughed, ruffling her hair. "Every date will be the best. Promise."

The girls erupted in cheers and teasing.

"First date!" Hye-jin sang, doing a little victory dance.

Soo-min nudged her. "Don't get cocky. Third is the sweet spot—right in the middle."

Ji-yeon smiled quietly. "Second feels… special. Like I'm next but not rushed."

Eun-ji crossed her arms dramatically. "Last is the best! Oppa will save the most romantic things for me!"

Min-seok watched them with a fond smile, heart full. He pulled Mi-Kyung closer to his side, kissing her temple.

"Looks like we have a schedule," he said. "Hye-jin first, Ji-yeon second, Soo-min third, Eun-ji last."

The girls clapped and high-fived each other, already planning outfits and ideas in their heads.

Mi-Kyung leaned into him, whispering, "You're going to have your hands full."

He kissed her softly. "Worth it. All of them are."

The room filled with excited chatter—dates, plans, teasing about who would get the most romantic spot. But underneath it all was the quiet certainty: no matter the order, Min-seok would make each one feel special, because that's who he was.

And they all knew it.

Later that night, after dinner and the excitement of gifts and date orders had settled into a cozy glow, the house felt warm and alive again. The large family bathroom—was filled with steam and the scent of lavender bubble bath. The oversized tub, big enough for all of them, bubbled happily under soft golden lights.

Min-seok stepped in first, lowering himself into the center of the warm water. The girls followed one by one, shedding robes without a hint of awkwardness—pure, innocent family comfort, the way it had always been when they were younger.

Mi-Kyung joined last, slipping in beside him with a shy smile. No one minded the closeness, the casual brushes of skin, the way bodies fit together in the water like puzzle pieces.

Min-seok sat in the middle, surrounded by the four sisters and Mi-Kyung. Bubbles floated around them, clinging to shoulders and hair. The water lapped gently as they settled.

He started with Soo-min, who sat to his left. She leaned forward, back to him, and he took the soft sponge, dipping it in the warm water before gently scrubbing her shoulders and down her spine.

"Your artist hands are too soft," he teased quietly, voice fond. "You've been painting too much, not scrubbing enough."

Soo-min laughed softly, tilting her head back against his chest. "Then keep scrubbing, Oppa. I like it when you take care of me, afterall you are my mother, and it's a mother's duty to look after her child."

He smiled, moving the sponge in slow, caring circles—down her back, over her shoulder blades, along her arms. Every touch was gentle, attentive, full of the protective love he'd always shown her. She sighed contentedly, eyes closing, completely relaxed in his care, as he placed a gentle kiss on her head.

Next, Hye-jin on his right. She giggled before he even touched her.

"Don't tickle me," she warned playfully.

He chuckled. "No promises."

He started at her shoulders, massaging the sponge in slow circles, then down her arms. When his fingers brushed her sides, she squealed and squirmed.

"Oppa!"

He laughed, pulling her closer for a second to steady her. "Hold still, troublemaker."

She relaxed against him, letting him wash her back with the same careful tenderness—long strokes, gentle pressure, making sure every inch felt loved. She rested her head on his shoulder, whispering, "I missed this… you always make me feel safe. I always feel the safest when you're around me."

Eun-ji, still the baby even at 18, demanded next. She scooted in front of him, back to his chest, tilting her head back dramatically.

"My hair, Oppa! Wash it properly!"

He laughed, squeezing shampoo into his palms and working it into her long hair. His fingers massaged her scalp slowly, deeply, the way he used to when she was little and scared of thunder. She hummed happily, leaning into his touch.

"Play with the bubbles," she said, blowing some at his face.

He did—making a bubble beard on her head, then popping them one by one while she giggled uncontrollably. The sound filled the bathroom, pure joy.

Ji-yeon sat quietly behind him, waiting her turn. When he turned to her, she smiled softly and offered her arms. He took the sponge and washed them slowly, reverently—shoulders, elbows, wrists, every movement careful and loving.

"You always take care of us," she whispered. "Let me take care of you too."

He kissed her forehead. "Soon, Unnie."

The girls splashed each other lightly, laughing, teasing Min-seok about being their "personal bath attendant." Mi-Kyung joined in, washing Hye-jin's hair while Min-seok scrubbed her back. No one minded the closeness, the casual touches—it was pure, innocent family affection, the kind that had always healed them.

Once Min-seok finished looking after all four sisters—each one relaxed, clean, and glowing with love—they turned on him.

Soo-min grabbed the shampoo bottle. "Our turn!"

Hye-jin took the sponge. Eun-ji snatched the loofah. Ji-yeon poured conditioner into her palm. Mi-Kyung joined with a soft washcloth, smiling.

They surrounded him—Soo-min working shampoo into his hair, massaging his scalp with gentle fingers. Hye-jin scrubbed his shoulders and back, humming softly.

Eun-ji playfully washed his chest, giggling when bubbles got in his eyes. Ji-yeon conditioned his hair after the shampoo was rinsed, combing it through with her fingers. Mi-Kyung washed his arms, kissing his shoulder between strokes.

Min-seok pretended to protest—"Yah, I can wash myself!"—but he let them pamper him, eyes soft with love, a small smile on his lips the whole time. He leaned back, completely relaxed, letting their hands care for him the way he always cared for them.

They teased him, splashed him lightly, laughed when soap got in his eyes. But every touch was full of affection—gentle, loving, grateful.

When they finished, they all rinsed off together, the water warm and comforting. Then they stepped out, drying each other with fluffy towels—Min-seok drying Mi-Kyung first, then helping his sisters, wrapping them in robes like he used to when they were small.

They padded back to the bedroom, all six of them piling into the big family bed. Min-seok lay in the center. The four sisters and Mi-Kyung immediately claimed their spots—all sprawling over him like puppies.

Soo-min curled against his left side, head on his chest. Hye-jin took his right arm, hugging it like a pillow. Eun-ji climbed half on top right beside Hye-jin, face tucked into his neck. Ji-yeon nestled against his right side exactly like Eun-ji, arm over his waist. Mi-Kyung lay on his chest, leg thrown over his legs, hand on his heart.

They all clung to him—warm, safe, loved.

Min-seok wrapped his arms around as many as he could reach, kissing whoever was closest.

"Love you all," he whispered into the dark.

A sleepy chorus answered: "Love you too, Oppa… love you…"

They fell asleep like that—six people tangled together, hearts beating in quiet harmony, family in every sense of the word.
