Godgrave was a Death Zone where few humans could survive. Nightmare creatures of high ranks were constantly born and killed in a impressive rate, the environment itself was dangerous, already taking the life of many unfortunate Awakened, being burned to from the Sun or devoured by the Red Moss. All with a Great skeleton as witness.
But that day, in humanity's Great Domain War, Godgrave was merely the background to the true battle.
The Song and Sword domain had been in a clash not too long ago, Awakened and Ascended battled eachother in a murderous struggle for control of the section of the skeleton of the Death Zone. The battlefield was bloodied and filled with corpses of humans...
A waste of soldiers.
However, that was before, now, Godgrave now was the background of a different battle, a different struggle.
One where the Awakened, Masters, Saints... And even Sovereigns were mere observers.
Two figures clashed swords and aspects in a terrifying show of technique and power, leveling the ground, fracturing it. Even causing cracks in the bone of the ancient being.
One was the Incarnation of Fire and Destruction.
The Changing Star, the Heir of Sun God and daughter of Broken Sword of the Immortal Flame.
The other was the Embodiment of Death and Solice.
The Hollow Death, the Heir of Shadow God and son of the Ravensong of Song.
Both Domains stared as they witnessed two Transcendent Titans battle. Even the elite Saints could barely belive the sight.
The sisters of Song fought the urge to join and help their brother, knowing they would be only a hinderence for the Heir of Death.
The Saints of Valor felt the similar, fearing getting caught in the crossfire of the otherworldly battle.
The Shadow Watchers and Firekeepers held solemn expressions, knowing the history of their leaders, and feeling guilty for not being able to help them.
Changing Star slashes of her sword caused fire and light to rise to burn the arena.
Hollow Death slashes of his weapons caused endless shadows to consume and dominate the area.
Destroction agaist adaption.
Passion against logic.
Fire against Death.
They were equals.
In the side of Valor's forces, there was a Saint different from the rest.
She was a beautiful blond woman with a blindfold on her eyes, held indifference and boredom on her face, witnessing the battlefield through her marks eyes. She had already seen this battle many times in her visions, so much so it didn't faze her anymore.
Song of the Fallen, the Witch of Fate, Heir of Weaver, lived in a world where present, past and future were all but a book she could read anytime she wished. Of course, she could only do that by fighting constant insanity, knowledge is a powerful, but dangerous tool that is constantly threatening her sanity. Wicht is the reason she doesn't seach for every answer...
Weaver never wanted for Song of the Fallen to become their Heir, someone, or more exactly, somethings went against their Will. Yet Cassie still felt like they were all walking in the direction the Daemon of Fate wanted things to go. Maybe it was their wish for Cassie to be the Heir of Fate, maybe not, who knows...
At that moment, a blinding sword of fire pierced the shadows and slashed the torso of The Hollow Death, soon enough, the shadows were once again filling the arena and engolfing the light and binding the Changing Star .
Song of the Fallen sighed.
'Are they fighting or flirting? Not even I am so...'
Cassie stopped and looked up to the dim sky away from the battle, there was no one there, nothing worthy to pay attention to, yet she smiled.
"Right... It must be time, I must say, talking to your past self is pretty weird, but I guess I need to hear this.
In some months, Sunny will find a mask, a wodden one with a devil's face, he will give it to you. Do whatever you want with it, even give it back, but whatever you do, don't wear it.
I would rather keep my sanity."
She raised her hand, gripping at invisible threads of weaving.
"Other than that, I think you should give him something in return, no?"
She let her hand go of the threads and summoned a plain, black mask with no visor or detail.
"Something to show he is the Heir of Death."
Another shockwave reached Song of the Fallen.
Shadows raised the ground and created a web-like structure, holding debrie and protecting the soldiers of both domains.
Cassie pondered as both Champions of Humanity transformed to their True Transcendent forms.
The battle had truely begun.
"I swear they like each other..."
-----
Cassie breathed heavily, opening her eyes to see Sunny and Nephis staring at her.
She had just consumed the [Drop of Ichor].
She could not do anything else, she started bleading. And pain consumed her body.
