Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Lion Bullet

Lena also raised her own gun and fired continuously, bang bang. Those guards had already been scared out of their wits by Charizard, and the bullets Lena fired couldn't be avoided even if they raised shields or hid behind cover.

The ability of the Through-Through Fruit was simply too lethal for ordinary people like them.

Someone wrapped head to toe like a tin can rushed out, and Lena fired a perfectly ordinary shot.

The tin-can knight's charge stopped instantly, his body swayed and collapsed to the ground. The armor on the outside showed no sign of damage—the bullet had gone straight into his flesh.

"Ugh!"

Charizard spewed another pillar of flame, completely blowing apart the guards' last line of resistance.

"Let's go."

Without bothering with the guards who had already scattered and fled, Lena and Charizard went into the abandoned mine.

The environment was much better than expected. They hadn't gone far before reaching a suddenly narrow area, where there was a very dense iron fence.

Behind the iron fence was an extremely comfortable living environment for someone imprisoned here—everything an ordinary home should have was present.

If it weren't for being locked up here for two years, and only for a short stay, Lena would have been very happy to rest here. After all, everything was here, and that bed even looked like a very high-end soft mattress.

"What happened outside? I heard a very loud commotion, and I've never seen you before."

The old king slowly turned around. He was a thin king, and because he had stayed in the mine for a long time, his skin was an unhealthy pale.

"For various reasons, we need you to return to the throne of the Six-Gold Kingdom."

After Lena finished speaking, without caring whether the other party agreed or not, she walked straight through the iron fence.

"A Devil Fruit user? Just like my son."

Lena asked, "You mean the current new king of the Six-Gold Kingdom? What kind of ability user is he?"

"That Devil Fruit… is the Smelt-Smelt Fruit."

...

Gold Mine Island.

"That stupid lion is absolutely no match for me, Moros."

The Cat-Man Moros was much faster than the Lion-Man Tant. After a head-on clash where he realized he couldn't gain much advantage, Moros began to make use of his speed.

"Cat Cat Fist!"

Moros pushed off with his feet, bounced twice across the deck, and appeared behind Tant, aiming for the back of his head.

The ring of lion mane around Tant's neck suddenly stood upright, like a hedgehog bristling with spikes.

Moros's cat fist was blocked by the lion mane. Unconvinced, he slapped a punch onto it, and indeed felt an extremely hard texture.

"What kind of move is this? You're a lion, not a hedgehog!"

Lion mane should have some defensive power, sure, but it should be soft. Tant's lion mane had clearly gone beyond the range of a normal lion's mane.

"I thought people who'd been to the Grand Line would have broader horizons. Didn't expect it… to be just this."

To pirates who had never left the Four Seas, the Grand Line was a place shrouded in mystery. It seemed that as long as you'd been there, whether in status or knowledge, you'd be a cut above.

At least, that was what Tant thought. Now it seemed that people who'd been to the Grand Line were just like this. His own leader was still the amazing one—teaching them powerful moves and telling them knowledge that many people on the Grand Line had never even heard of.

When Tant trained in Rokushiki, he originally started with moves like Tekkai and Shigan, and

it really was "you plant flowers with care and they don't bloom, you plant willows without meaning to and they grow into shade."

His progress with Tekkai and Shigan was average, but by accident he first cultivated Seimei Kikan, a move with tremendous potential. In Rocket Team, aside from Vane, he was currently the only one who had touched Seimei Kikan.

Even Vane didn't really count as having trained it properly—he was constantly absorbing energy, the life level of the blood in his body growing stronger and stronger, letting him control his body to produce certain deformations.

For example, making his nails longer and harder, making muscle density stronger, and so on—different from the Seimei Kikan of the pirate world.

One was an innate life talent, the other a technique learned later.

"Just a West Blue pirate, and you dare look down on me!"

Moros hugged his limbs in, turning his whole body into a cat "ball," then started rolling—fast and agile.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The cat ball Moros had become kept slamming into Tant, and as the number of impacts increased, the force of the impacts kept rising as well.

"Lion Pounce!"

Tant tried to use both arms to knock Moros away, but the opponent's power was already far beyond what he could withstand. Instead, he was knocked flying a long distance and rolled many times across the deck.

"No, just having strength can't stop him. I need stronger attack power."

Tant's strength was great, but his offensive development was actually pretty average. He didn't have any decisive move. Vane had always recommended that he develop Rankyaku—of course, using his own claws, not kicking.

Rankyaku had great killing power and could also make up for his severe lack of long-range options.

Also, when Vane looked at Tant's lion form, he always thought of the Beast King from the House of Evolution in One Punch Man—the destructive power of those slashing claws was pretty impressive.

Seimei Kikan—Lion Claw Enhancement.

"Come on!"

Tant recalled the movements he had practiced before, and swung both claws!

Bang!!!

He was a step too slow. Before the claws could even swing out, he was smashed away by Moros.

"Damn it! Again!"

Failure after failure. If it weren't for the fact that when he trained with Vane and Bonez before, they hardly held back at all, which boosted his toughness who knows how much, he would have gone down long ago.

"Fall for me! You bumpkin pirate!"

"You're the bumpkin! I'm a lion! The future Lion King!"

In his fury, Tant swung his claws early, and a tearing sound came from the air.

A faint, crossed lion-claw slash appeared and pushed forward several meters.

At that moment, Moros had already bounced off the deck and was in midair, unable to dodge at all.

Splurt!!

Blood sprayed. Moros reverted from the Meat Egg Impact form, rolled several times on the ground, and finally crashed into the ship's rail and stopped.

On his chest were several parallel claw marks, blood seeping out continuously.

Moros: "You…."

"This move will be called Lion Bullet from now on!"

Compared to Tant, who often got beaten up, Moros's body was much more fragile. This blow made it hard for him to get back up.

"Electabuzz, use Thunder Punch, meow!"

Electabuzz's figure jumped onto the deck, and a fist of electric-type energy struck the already heavily wounded Moros.

Crackle crackle! A burst of lightning.

Moros was completely knocked out this time!

The Electabuzz stone item produced by the Cat-Cat Fruit appeared, and Electabuzz happily held the item in its hands.
