No one came to ask me about Beatrice or confront me about the situation. It was either that they didn't know it was me, or they felt it was better to let the matter die that way, since someone had to pay for drugging me.
Ah, it was most certainly the latter.
Caelum came to my room that evening and told me he wanted to read me a book. It was quite peculiar of him, and since I didn't have anything doing, I just let him.
Beatrice used to be the female he fancied, but he didn't try to blame me for her broken state or speak about it. The fondness had completely vanished.
Surprisingly, I fell asleep as he read me, as if his voice had been a lullaby. He read smoothly, and without a change in his tone, which was rather soothing. I think I've found a new hobby.
And with that, I had Caelum read me a book every night. It wasn't depravity, it wasn't intimacy, it was just a 'brother' caring for his 'sister'.
