"Sit," she gestured towards one of the Lawson chairs that were in the sitting chamber. She sat down too and kept scrutinizing Emma in admiration.
"I have come to say thank you for the picture and the letter you gave my moonally. They really mean a lot to me."
"You really look like your mother," she grinned. "How is she?"
"I don't know where she is," she said sadly, and lowered her gaze and she smirked.
"I read her letters several times. She desperately wants to see you."
"I want to see her too."
"She is in Belarus," she said and stared into space as if she was trying to recall other information she saw in any of the letters she read. Brooklyn and Emma kept quiet. "Vitebsk: Lenina."
"Can you recall the state?" She asked and she shook her head.
"What happened? Did she give you up for adoption and suddenly realize she had made a mistake?" She asked.
"It's a long story, but I'm going to cut it short," she said and began to narrate everything her mate told her.
