Chapter 178 - Chapter 178: I Think I Walked Into the Wrong Genre

The next day.

Rod woke up naturally, as usual, with his Lavinia Body Pillow firmly in his arms.

Looking at the smooth, flower-like beauty nestled against him, he had originally intended to get in a little morning exercise before getting out of bed.

Then he heard voices coming from downstairs.

The room's soundproofing was excellent, but Rod's hearing was even better. It didn't take long for him to recognize the voices as belonging to Rias and Akeno.

Only then did he remember that they were supposed to be moving in with him today.

No wonder Rias had agreed to renovate the house so readily back then.

Turns out she'd been planning this from the very beginning.

This time, Rod was on the first floor, while Rias had been planning from the fifth.

Without dwelling on it further, he got up.

Lavinia slowly opened her sleepy eyes and immediately froze when she saw Rod already dressed and awake.

This wasn't scientific!

Since when had he become so diligent?

Wasn't he usually the type to stay in bed with her every morning?

As if sensing what she was thinking, Rod smiled.

"It's Rias and Akeno. Because of the Odin and Loki situation, they'll be staying here starting today."

"I see."

Lavinia nodded in understanding.

"By the way, what happened between Odin and Loki?"

"Oh, right. I forgot to tell you."

Rod briefly recounted the conflict between the two Norse gods.

"If that's the case, then it really isn't safe for two girls to be living by themselves."

Lavinia sat up on the bed and stretched lazily, fully extending her graceful figure.

Her smooth, fair skin glowed under the scattered rays of sunlight filtering through the curtains.

Noticing Rod's fixed gaze, she paid it no mind and bent over to search for the clothes she'd discarded the night before.

"Being able to stay here will make things much safer. Thankfully Miss Rias had this house renovated beforehand, otherwise there wouldn't be enough room for everyone."

Seeing how pleased she seemed, Rod raised an eyebrow.

"You sound pretty happy about it. Are you actually looking forward to having them move in?"

"Of course."

Lavinia smiled.

"The more people there are, the livelier the house becomes. Then I'll have more people to drink tea with and chat with in the afternoons~"

Then, as though she could see straight through Rod's thoughts, she added:

"And besides, I was someone you took in too, Rod-chan. So naturally I don't have any objections to other girls moving in."

"Though, Rod-chan, there's something I need to tell you seriously."

"Hm?"

Lavinia suddenly moved extremely close.

Her white shirt hung loosely over her body, several buttons left undone, openly revealing the breathtaking curves beneath.

Yet her expression remained completely blank.

With an icy tone, she said:

"If you casually betray a girl's feelings, you might end up getting stabbed by a yandere someday~"

"...?"

Did I just walk into the wrong genre?

Director! Change the disc! Right now!

Seeing Rod's stunned expression, Lavinia suddenly burst out laughing.

"Pfft!"

"Did I sound convincing just now? It's from a manga I read recently called School Days~"

Convincing?

For a moment there, Rod had genuinely thought Lavinia had awakened some terrifying dark side.

He let out a long sigh of relief.

"You should really stop reading those weird manga."

"Wouldn't it be better to read something wholesome like Doraemon or Pleasant Goat instead?"

"Okay~"

Lavinia nodded obediently.

"I'll go downstairs and greet them first."

Rod shook his head and left the room.

Meanwhile, Lavinia quietly watched the direction he had gone, a gentle smile lingering in her eyes.

...

First-floor living room.

The aroma of breakfast drifted out from the kitchen.

Raynare's professionalism as the household cook was beyond question, and her culinary skills only seemed to improve with each passing day. At this rate, she looked ready to make a name for herself in the culinary world.

"Master, today's breakfast is French cuisine."

After making her report, Raynare instructed Walburga to bring the dishes that had been kept warm to the dining table.

Mittelt and Kalawarna were helping in the kitchen.

Kuroka, meanwhile, sat in front of the television, furiously shaking a game controller.

"Hss! Hss! Hss!"

Judging from her increasingly agitated noises, she was clearly one boss fight away from losing her sanity.

Koneko and Asia were entertaining the guests, Rias and Akeno, both still wearing their school uniforms.

To be fair, beautiful girls looked good in anything.

Even so, Rod couldn't help wondering whether the two of them owned any casual clothes at all.

Noticing Rod's arrival, both Rias and Akeno stood up to greet him.

"Have you two eaten yet? If not, sit down and join us."

The smell of the food immediately stimulated Rod's appetite.

"Uh... Akeno and I already had breakfast."

Rias looked utterly speechless.

It was almost ten o'clock.

And you're only now eating breakfast?

Yet beneath her exasperation was a hint of envy.

When would they ever get to live such a carefree life?

At that moment, footsteps descended the staircase.

Rias and Akeno turned toward the sound.

Walking down the stairs was Lavinia, dressed in a loose white shirt and shorts. Her snow-white skin almost seemed dazzling under the morning light.

Akeno's expression immediately sharpened.

Lavinia and Rod had gotten up at the same time.

Which meant they not only lived together,

They might already have crossed that line.

Given Akeno's experience and insight, it didn't take long for her to notice that Lavinia's complexion and overall demeanor were distinctly different from theirs.

Her suspicions only deepened.

Oddly enough, however, she found herself pleased by the discovery.

Because it meant Rod wasn't some untouchable saint.

If he were, there would be no point in her moving in.

Rias seemed to realize something as well.

Her face reddened slightly, but she wisely chose not to ask.

Asia, meanwhile, shot a somewhat resentful look in their direction.

She was the one who'd been here first.

"Everyone, we'll likely be troubling you for quite some time."

Once Lavinia joined them, Rias formally explained their reason for moving in.

"I might end up staying for a very long time~"

Akeno added sweetly.

"Akeno."

"That's fine. There are plenty of empty rooms. Stay as long as you like."

Rod chuckled.

"Then thank you very much, Rod."

Akeno immediately expressed her gratitude, not giving Rias any chance to clarify what she'd meant.

Rias shot her a glare but ultimately swallowed her complaints.

While Rod and Lavinia were eating breakfast, the two girls selected rooms closest to Rod's and had their familiars, along with the Fallen Angel trio, help move their belongings.

Before long, everything was settled.

And just as they came downstairs to discuss Loki-related matters with Rod,

Odin and Rossweisse arrived for a visit.
