Chapter 79 - A New Target Has Appeared

Geno quickly signed the agreement with the Proxy siblings.

From now on, Fairy would set aside two days a week to help Geno with his work. In return, Geno would cover all electricity costs for Fairy at both his studio and Random Play.

And thus, a world where everyone was satisfied was born. (Fairy: ...)

After bidding farewell to the Proxy siblings, Geno didn't continue working. Instead, he went to the room upstairs.

This was a room he had set up specifically for Twiggy. As for its purpose...

"Hand me the reagent from Station 3."

"Raise the reactor temperature by another three degrees Celsius."

"Wait! Energy activity is spiking rapidly! It's going to blow!"

Bang!

A short but loud explosion rang out, but Geno was already used to it.

With Silver Base destroyed, Twiggy's experiments had to continue here.

But as you can see, the experimental conditions here were truly a bit harsh.

Although the conditions at Silver Base hadn't been great either, compared to now, that was like comparing a witch to a wizard—there was no comparison.

"Geno, cough cough, you're here. Just in time, cough cough, help us turn on the fan, cough cough."

Geno pressed the button, and the massive fan blades began to spin, sweeping away all the smoke and dust Twiggy and the others had created.

Only after the scene was cleared did Twiggy take off her goggles, walk up to Geno, and give him a hug.

"Ugh, experiments are so hard."

Geno's expression remained flat; if anything, he wanted to laugh a little.

The irritable and tsundere appearance Twiggy usually wore had completely vanished. Now, she was even acting coquettishly toward Geno.

Do you think Twiggy had a personality transplant? Then you are too naive.

"How about we change laboratories?"

Twiggy's attempt at manipulation was pitiably transparent; she couldn't even hide the handle of the dagger she was planning to stab his wallet with.

"Sigh, Twiggy, you don't need to beg me like this for things I already know."

As soon as the words fell, Twiggy stood up and dusted herself off.

"Ahem, of course I knew that," Twiggy said to Geno with a serious face.

Although Geno had made quite a bit of money starting his game business, for Twiggy, who was running experiments, it simply wasn't enough.

It could be said that it wouldn't even make a splash.

Originally, borrowing the equipment at Silver Base meant they didn't have to consider these major costs. But now that Silver Base was destroyed, they truly had no better option.

"Anyway, please bear with it for a while longer. I'll get this sorted out as soon as possible."

As he spoke, Geno patted Twiggy's head, causing her small face to flush red again.

The other two in the room were used to this sight, and even discussed it with gusto.

"Geno is dense enough. Twiggy clearly just wanted an excuse to snuggle with him."

"Mm, but this kind of Twiggy is interesting."

Number 5 and Number 6 were veteran spectators; they knew Twiggy's various little mannerisms inside and out.

But they saw through it without saying it. If they really exposed her, there would be no good show to watch later.

"By the way, although the experiment progress isn't great, we still had some gains."

Saying this, Twiggy brought over the culprit of the recent explosion.

"Here, this little thing. After our detailed experiments, it finally..."

"Finally succeeded?"

"...Finally failed."

"Then why are you so happy?"

"As the saying goes, failure is the mother of success. Through this experiment, we discovered that the strength of the material used to shield the Ether energy frequency isn't sufficient. Just using standard Ether containment materials is no longer applicable. We need a material that is sturdier and has a better Ether absorption rate..."

Listening to Twiggy spout a heap of professional terminology, Geno's eyes were starting to spin. He hurriedly interrupted her long-winded speech.

"Alright, alright, Teacher Twiggy, I'll listen to your lecture later. Just tell me what I need to do, and I promise, I won't refuse."

"Mm, simply put, we need a material that better meets the requirements. And this material is extremely rare on the market in New Eridu City, so..."

"So, you want me to help you secure the supply of this material?"

"Exactly!"

Next, Twiggy explained the item she needed to Geno.

Lumiceramic. It was a special type of ceramic material.

It possessed high hardness, high wear resistance, unique insulating properties, and, most importantly, high resistance to Ether Corruption.

However, as a high-performance material, Lumiceramic was not common on the New Eridu market. Its production capacity was mainly consumed by major corporations and groups, with very little circulating in the open market.

"So, I want you to make a trip to the production site of Lumiceramic, Weifidi. If you import directly from the suppliers there, this problem can be perfectly solved!"

Twiggy had thought it through clearly: if she couldn't buy it in the city, she would solve the problem directly at the source.

Moreover, once her research succeeded and they moved to mass production, the supply of Lumiceramic would become a top priority.

Geno had no objections to this; he would just treat it as a vacation.

"No problem, piece of cake. But, Weifidi... although I've never been there, I heard the style there is very different from New Eridu. Wouldn't it be better to find someone familiar with the place to guide me?"

He didn't mean anything else by it; he was mainly afraid of getting lost again.

After all, Geno's lack of direction was truly a bit...

"Regarding that, I actually have a good candidate."

Twiggy's lips curled up. This was truly a case of coincidence knocking on the door—it couldn't be more perfect.

Geno was completely confused by this, but seeing Twiggy's confident manner, he didn't ask further.

However, he hoped to wait until he finished the matters at hand before setting off.

So, he told Twiggy they would leave in three days. Twiggy nodded; the guide who would lead the way also needed to handle her own affairs.

As for the matter Geno spoke of, it wasn't related to the game.

He had already designed the general content on that side; as long as the Bangboos and Fairy completed it on time, it would be fine.

What he had to do was another matter, one related to a cat.

"Meow? Looking for me?"

Geno arrived at the Cunning Hares and found Nekomata.

Although Geno had recognized Nekomata as his younger sister, Nekomata stated that she had hands and feet and didn't need Geno to support her completely.

So, taking advantage of the fact that she owed Nicole money, she temporarily joined the Cunning Hares to work off her debt.

Although Geno also said he could help Nekomata pay off the debt, Nekomata stated that a girl has her pride.

However, whether the Cunning Hares could actually pay out wages might become Nekomata's biggest problem in the coming months.

But that didn't stop Geno from coming to ask her for a favor.

"Mm, it's something related to the Red Fang Gang."

"The Red Fang Gang?"

Nekomata was somewhat surprised. When did Geno get involved with the Red Fang Gang?

Moreover, according to her intelligence, wasn't the Red Fang Gang on the verge of disbanding?

This couldn't help but make Nekomata start thinking.

Why did Geno suddenly come to find her at this time?

Why did Geno say this matter would be related to the Red Fang Gang?

Why pick the exact moment when the Red Fang Gang was about to disband?

Nekomata seemed to think of something, and she immediately became serious.

"You... you don't mean to..."

Geno nodded. That was exactly what he was thinking.

He wanted to make the Red Fang Gang work for him.
