The Hogwarts castle at night had shed the bustle of the day; its corridors lay shrouded in deep silence and darkness.

Several sneaky figures moved swiftly and silently through the empty halls.

They were Lynn, William, Edgar, and Ollie.

At the very front, Lynn yawned repeatedly. Though he remained alert to his surroundings, he couldn't help whispering a complaint:

"Not sleeping in the middle of the night… ah—why drag me out for a stroll? Wouldn't it be better to spend this time researching a few more spells or actually getting some rest?"

Edgar, right behind him, immediately shot back in a low but righteous tone:

"And whose fault is that? You gave us that 'basilisk wine'! The aftereffects are ridiculous! Yesterday, I slept in a daze until this afternoon before I finally woke up—and William and Ollie were the same! After nearly a full day and night of sleep, we're so energized we could wrestle a troll. Who could possibly fall asleep now? If we don't go out, what—count the cracks on the dorm ceiling?"

William adjusted his glasses. Though he said nothing, his expression clearly read: agreed.

Ollie remained silent, nodding vigorously.

Lynn, knowing he was in the wrong, clicked his tongue and stopped complaining, focusing instead on leading the way.

Relying on his familiarity with the castle—and the subtle warnings from Peter's Jolt—they avoided several risky routes and made their way from near the Hufflepuff common room all the way to the second-floor bathroom without incident.

The protective magic that had surrounded the area during Christmas had already been removed. Only a wooden door remained, secured with a large brass lock.

"It's locked," William whispered.

Lynn rolled his eyes and lightly tapped his wand. "It's not like you don't know Alohomora."

"I'm lazy," William replied, perfectly serious.

Click.

The lock sprang open.

The four of them slipped inside.

The moment they entered, Edgar let out a quiet exclamation:

"Whoa! The bathroom's been remodeled like this?!"

Gone was the dilapidated, leaking, abandoned space that once reeked of mildew.

In its place stood an elegant magical fountain where the old sink had been.

Clear water bubbled from the center, cascading down tiered stone levels in soft, melodic ripples.

Surrounding the fountain were four life-sized, exquisitely detailed statues—the founders of Hogwarts.

Godric Gryffindor stood tall, one hand on his hip, the other raising his sword high, his face alight with bold, pioneering spirit.

Rowena Ravenclaw held her diadem gracefully, her calm gaze filled with wisdom—as though it could pierce through the very fabric of knowledge.

Helga Hufflepuff leaned forward slightly, cradling her golden cup, her expression warm and reassuring.

Salazar Slytherin stood erect, wand angled forward, chin lifted, his expression proud and unyielding.

Above the fountain, a softly glowing Hogwarts crest rotated slowly, its light illuminating the chamber.

"So… where's the Chamber of Secrets?" Lynn looked around, baffled. "Where's my giant entrance? Don't tell me they just sealed it up—Professor Dumbledore works fast."

He stepped closer to the fountain and bent down, examining the smooth stone surface where the snake-head faucet should have been.

But the moment he approached—

The rotating crest above suddenly stopped.

The large "H" at its center lit up.

A cylindrical beam of light descended, illuminating a circular patch of floor in front of the fountain.

Rumble—

The stone floor split apart, sliding smoothly to either side and revealing a perfectly round opening about two meters wide.

Edgar leaned over the edge, peered down, then turned back.

"Found it."

Lynn: "…"

He stared at the entrance, which was far more… dignified than the old snake-head sink—and even had a certain ceremonial flair.

"…Fine. At least I don't have to hiss 'open' at a faucet anymore. Let's go—jump."

With that, he took the lead and leapt into the glowing opening.

William, Edgar, and Ollie followed immediately.

When Lynn landed, he quickly looked around.

As expected—it was the main hall of Salazar Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets.

The massive statue still stood at the far end. The damage from Lynn's earlier explosion had been fully repaired, and the snake-carved walls lining the passage remained silent and imposing.

William adjusted his glasses, illuminating the area with a light spell.

"This is the legendary Chamber of Secrets?" he said thoughtfully. "Aside from its size—and the rather impressive statue—it seems… underwhelming. No mountains of treasure. No secret library of Dark Arts books."

"That's because you didn't see it when a thousand-year-old basilisk was living here," Lynn replied flatly.

"If you had, you wouldn't be calling it 'underwhelming.' Wait…"

His gaze suddenly locked onto something near the base of the statue.

"…Since when was there a door?"

Where there should have been solid stone, a doorway now stood open.

From within spilled a strange blue light, shimmering like water—completely different from the torchlit gloom of the chamber.

"Shall we check it out?" Edgar's curiosity ignited instantly. He rubbed his hands together. "Inside Hogwarts, in a place remodeled by Professor Dumbledore—what's the worst that could happen? At most… a small surprise?"

"Let's go." ×3

They exchanged glances, reached a silent agreement, and cautiously stepped through the archway.

The sight beyond stopped them in their tracks.

It felt as though they had stepped into a transparent underwater tunnel.

Above them and on both sides stretched thick, crystal-clear glass.

Beyond it lay the vast depths of the Black Lake.

Filtered sunlight cast shifting blue-green patterns through the water.

Schools of fish glided past in shimmering currents. In the distance, enormous squid tentacles swayed slowly in the shadows. Aquatic plants drifted gently, and now and then, the indistinct forms of merpeople flickered into view.

"Merlin…" William murmured, staring upward as reflections danced across his lenses. "Is this… a tunnel beneath the Black Lake? A viewing corridor?"

Lynn nodded in awe. "That glass is definitely enchanted—Transfiguration, reinforcement, water purification… possibly even spatial expansion."

What he could see now far exceeded anything visible from the surface before. Dumbledore's handiwork was no small feat.

They began walking forward along the corridor, which stretched deeper into the lake.

After a while, Lynn suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

Not from the cold water outside—but something else.

A sensation.

Familiar.

Unpleasant.

Like being watched.

"Wait." He stopped abruptly, lowering his voice. "Something's wrong… it feels like something is watching us."

William instantly raised his wand. Edgar and Ollie froze, scanning their surroundings.

"…Should we head back?" Lynn suggested quietly.

The others exchanged uneasy glances. They didn't like it—but Lynn's instincts had proven reliable before.

"Agreed."

"Let's retreat."

Just as they turned to leave—

The chill in Lynn's chest surged sharply.

Before any of them could take a step—

A figure suddenly appeared ahead of them, silently blocking their path.

"Ha~"
