Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Rin, Kai, Internal Observation, and Shikamaru

Building upon the foundation of 'Rin', one can indeed transition directly into 'Kai'. When the two seals are linked, the dispersed senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and Chakra meridian perception flow back like a river reversing its course, returning entirely to the body. External things fade away, leaving only a pure 'internal vision' focused on oneself; muscles, bones, and meridians merge into a whole, indistinguishable from one another.

By connecting the 'Jin' and 'Retsui' seals, focus can shift and move across various tissues of the human body. Systems like the muscular and lymphatic systems are highlighted and categorized one by one... 'I can clearly observe the subtle activities and changes in every part of the body, layer by layer, system by system... Under such thorough insight, I can forge my body with extreme precision and perfection—maintaining every part in a perfect, healthy state, allowing the body to exert incredible speed and power...'

'Which exercise methods are useful and effective, and which movements harm the body—everything has changed from a state of feeling around in the dark to being crystal clear!'

How big is the gap between'seeing' and 'not seeing'?

To use a common example:

If you give someone a pair of tweezers and a slice of onion cells, and ask them to operate by eye without a microscope to isolate a single onion cell... that person certainly couldn't do it, unless their eyes could function as a microscope.

However, when a person has a high-enough magnification microscope, they can hold tweezers and 'write' on a microscopic scale by manipulating individual atoms and molecules.

The human body can possess unbelievable precision.

The prerequisite is to perceive it!

"Sigh, if I had known this Secret Technique had such an amazing unexpected benefit, I would have learned it long ago..." Ino felt like she had "missed out on a fortune"—she was quite regretful. Of course, this was "Dad's" fault... If he had explained it clearly, she would have learned it ages ago and wouldn't have put it off until yesterday... After Ino finished her test, Mrs. Yamanaka asked, "Can the Kai seal follow Rin?" Ino nodded and said, "Yes, I tried it."

...Just as they were about to continue, the person delivering the penjing arrived. Kana went to open the courtyard gate. The arrivals were a standard graduation internship class consisting of one Jonin and three Genin. Each of the three Genin carried a large wooden box on their heads—a full meter thick and a meter square. Only shock-absorbent and drop-proof straw could be seen inside the boxes. Following instructions, the three Genin unloaded the boxes in the living room and the Library respectively. The Genin curiously looked around the interior and exterior scenery of the Yamanaka household.

In particular, the sea of colorful flowers made one of the female Ninjas exclaim in admiration, "Wow, what a huge flower garden, it's simply too beautiful."

After the Genin team left, Kana made another trip to fetch the clan's craftsmen to handle the living room first:

They pried up part of the living room floor and placed the penjing down. A 3D panorama of the entire Konoha appeared on the floor... Then, large buckets of resin were poured in, and the work was temporarily finished.

For the sake of aesthetics, the family chose a one-piece molding, which resulted in almost no place to step in the living room.

As soon as Inoichi Yamanaka returned, he stopped at the door, then used a Body Flicker Technique to appear on a small patch of floor leading to the kitchen where he could stand.

"It's already done? That was fast..." Inoichi Yamanaka looked down and admired the floor that hadn't solidified yet. "It really is beautiful."

"Once it dries and gets polished, it'll be even prettier. If it didn't need to air-dry at room temperature to ensure quality, I would have used other means... In three days, when it's completely solidified, the workers can polish it. It'll be truly gorgeous once it's shiny." Ino ran over in a few steps and sat down next to Inoichi Yamanaka, seeking credit: "See that? I had them install lights. It'll be especially beautiful when they're turned on at night..."

"Yes, yes, my baby is the best."

"Your baby's skills are quite something!" Mrs. Yamanaka brought out the food, and the family sat down to eat. "I'll tell you more about it later."

Inoichi Yamanaka asked, "What has Ino done now?"

"I said we'll talk later, eat first. If I tell you now, you'll inevitably be distracted at work this afternoon. Just take a nap after eating..."

Mrs. Yamanaka had Inoichi Yamanaka's schedule perfectly arranged. Little Ino was also perfectly arranged—after napping for about forty minutes at noon, she was hauled up by Mrs. Yamanaka to change out of the T-shirt she'd worn all last night and all morning. She put on a light-colored undershirt, covered it with the purple robe she wore yesterday, put on gloves and a sunscreen mask, and hung her veil, wrapping herself up tightly. "You've stayed home all morning. Go out for a stroll this afternoon. Whether you want to play the zither or just wander around, anything is fine, just don't stay cooped up at home..."

Ino:...She was too lazy to go out—so Ino chose to wander around her own yard. After her walk, she plopped down and played the zither for a long while.

When the weather wasn't so hot anymore, Shikamaru arrived as scheduled, his small face terrifyingly pale... Ino stopped playing her music in surprise.

"Shikamaru, did you get boiled? No, that's not right; people turn red when boiled, why are you even paler?"

Shikamaru rolled his eyes and asked, "Ino, do you have any more sunscreen masks? Give me one." As he spoke, he sat down on the ground.

Ino said, "I do, but that's my stuff. It's very rude to ask a girl to give you things like this..."

"So?"

"Pay up. I'll sell it to you..."

"If I had money, would I be asking you for one?" Shikamaru gave Ino another look. Ino chuckled and told Kana to get a sunscreen mask for Shikamaru, specifically instructing: "Get him the pinkest one with the veil." Then she turned back to Shikamaru: "Do you want gloves? I have gloves too..."

"No."

Kana went and returned quickly, taking only a few minutes. She brought back a dainty pink mask with a veil.

Shikamaru's heart rejected it... This dainty pink color made him feel the deep malice from his childhood friend.

"Alright, put it on. Don't be picky with something given for free."

Ino, laughing, directly reached out and stuffed the sunscreen mask onto Shikamaru's face. Shikamaru was completely powerless to resist... So, he simply stopped resisting—a veteran of the 'let it rot' philosophy. He took off his green outer jacket, rolled it up to use as a pillow, and lay flat on his back... Life was instantly complete.

After a while, Shikamaru finally spoke about the 'reason' for his pale complexion—

He didn't know what kind of craze his old lady was going through!

Nara Yoshino had heard some theory from somewhere, saying that shadows are shortest at noon, making the Shadow Secret Technique hardest to perform under such conditions. So, she made Shikamaru practice while baking in the hot sun and even fixed a scale on the ground to check his 'results' in the Secret Technique... This was practically the death of Shikamaru.
