Consequences.
They say in Kinerik the only way to avoid them is to be quick enough to out run them.
Streaks dart through the narrow and empty alleyways of Swifi, bursting a single lone door at the alley's end.
They were a small group of Reacher each of them with limiter with the gear digit '3' on them, led by a Reacher with 'III' on his limiter instead of a digit. They darted in to the room at top speeds, moving so fast that they only appeared as blurs haze to other Kinerikan racing through the open streets.
They raced in to and darting through dark hallway within only to find a room lit with hundreds of monitors each of them displaying different parts of the city and an empty desk with a note on it.
The leader of the group then took the note and read it.
"Not fast enough slugha"
He gritted his teeth before turning to his men.
"Hurry, search the entire city. He couldn't have far?" he yelled. The Reachers then wasted no time raced away.
The leader just looked down at the note, his eyes landing on the word 'slugha' before crumpling up the note racing off to join his men.
But for others, who aren't fast enough. It's impossible to out run them.
Rushina found herself standing trail in front of a judge with a limiter that flashed the number '3', a prosecutor with gear two limiter and another gear two as her defense who frankly didn't happy to be her defense and was barely even trying, with his main defense behind 'the accused cooperated with authorities after being detained and no one hurt because of her'
The trail, the most of Kinerikan was fast, and after what seemed like only a minute of deliberation and litigation the judge looked at her, barely masking his disgust for before strike his down his gavel and declaring a sentence.
"A month with restricted speed for abusing the liberating gift of motion will share as Kinerikans,"
Rushina heard then speak, each word laced with a thin vale contempt she had long grown accustomed to.
Everything after that was a haze as she was a brand new limiter that flashed with single digit '0'. Then device that completely negated her speed was removed and she was let go.
Free to leave and go on to a world in constant motion moving slower a slugha.
"Hey Rushina," a soft gentle familiar voice called out to her.
She didn't turn her head to meet her gaze.
Zoomie just looked at her, seeing emptiness and pain her gaze as she hung her head low, with eyes trembling and a hand hesitant to reach out.
"Do you…" Do you need a ride home?" she spoke, her words cracking underneath her breath.
Rushina just looked ahead, seeing the open road filled with streaks and blurs of other Kinerikans racing through. She then looked down at her new limiter, seeing the zero flashing on it before saying in a low, almost silent tone, "Yeah"
