Under the deep red clouds, the cries of griffins and Three-headed Blood Eagles echoed.

Though the air still smelled of sulfur and smog, the monsters created by Blood Magic lived on tenaciously.

They were driven by Fire Elements at their core, but they did not refuse to consume blood and flesh.

Compared to real animals and real people, Fire Zombiess had lost the capacity for enjoyment, replaced instead by the instinct to kill.

In the indifferent black mist not far away, the figures of Long-Haired People riding Unicorn blood zombies were also slowly approaching.

Viserys glanced at the troop of Long-Haired People Fire Zombies; they were uniquely hideous.

He had once thought the Ibmen were the ugliest, hairiest human race, but it seemed the extinct Long-Haired People were even more so; no wonder many believed the Long-Haired People were the ancestors of the Ibmen.

The Ibmen come from the island nation of Ib, and they have two major characteristics: first, they have the most body hair of any known race in the world.

Second, they are known for being ugly and clumsy—short in stature but powerfully built.

Ibmen skin is pale with dark blue veins, but their hair is pitch-black and coarse.

Ibmen men wear large beards, with body hair covering their limbs, chests, and backs; coarse body hair is also common among their women, some of whom even grow hair on their upper lips.

The Ibmen are burly, with broad shoulders and wide chests, yet they are short, rarely exceeding five and a half feet, with thick, short legs and long arms.

Their facial features are distinct, with sloping brows and prominent brow ridges, small sunken eyes, large square teeth, and heavy jaws.

Even slave traders look down on the Ibmen; Ibmen women are considered too ugly to be bed slaves and too coarse in manner to be domestic slaves.

Consequently, many Ibmen sold into slavery end up spending the rest of their lives in the pits of Meereen, Yunkai, and Astapor.

However, in terms of combat prowess, the Long-Haired People cavalry—even more massive and taller than the Ibmen—were not to be underestimated.

Viserys had to deal with the airborne adversaries first before eliminating the Long-Haired People Fire Zombiess.

Viserys and the golden dragon were on a level patch of ground amidst the ruined hills; the golden dragon had nearly finished devouring the flesh of the Three-headed Blood Eagle.

Sunfyre opened his mouth and exhaled a wisp of black smoke, having enjoyed a hearty meal.

A dragon's food intake should be several times its body weight, but in the Valyrian wasteland, Sunfyre could not always eat his fill.

The golden dragon Sunfyre's snout tentatively bumped against Viserys's silver breastplate; the young dragon found this game rather amusing.

Viserys felt a sense of relief in his heart, along with a feeling of self-confidence and satisfaction.

That arduous path of fire—he, Viserys, had completed it.

Now, it was time to prepare some new 'fun' for the world.

This was exactly what Emperor Orryon had requested of him: to plunge the world into clamor and chaos, and to take ruthless revenge on those who betrayed the dragon kings while climbing to the pinnacle of power.

After more than a hundred years, the world would once again hear the high-pitched roar of a dragon.

And he, Viserys Targaryen, was the creator of this legend.

In the past, there were several ways dragons were named. The first was after gods, like Balerion and Vhagar.

Others were named for their appearance and traits, such as Sheepstealer and Glutton.

Some were named for symbolic meanings: Morning, Stormcloud, Moondancer.

Finally, there was the method of naming them after people, like Rhaegal.

Viserys felt that although 'Sunfyre' was a bit plain, it fit the naming conventions.

The Long Night is coming; humanity needs a sun, a scorching sun.

Though the golden dragon Sunfyre was aloof and proud, Viserys had passed the partner's test.

Lonely, proud, cunning, powerful, greedy... Viserys felt as if he could read the emotions in the golden dragon's eyes. It was clever, cunning, and formidable, which was how it had survived in these Valyrian ruins.

A top-tier loner and predator, it had hunted many opponents to endure until now.

Otherwise, it would have been like the Viserys of the past—a destitute landless king.

The golden dragon didn't strictly need a rider, but Viserys's performance gave the dragon a sense of mutual respect.

A powerful, dangerous, and even somewhat crazed hunter.

Generally, the rule for taming dragons is that young dragons are easier to handle than old ones, females are gentler than males, and dragons that once had riders are easier to manage than wild ones.

Sunfyre's temperament wasn't as violent as old wild dragons like Glutton or Sheepstealer, and his dragonflame wasn't yet at a terrifying concentration, but he was very proud, stubborn, and would not tolerate being trifled with.

"Form a formation and defend against the Long-Haired People. I will deal with the Blood Eagles and griffins in the air first," Viserys commanded his Squires. Several men had already been lost, and this journey was far from over.

"Long live King Viserys! May the gods protect King Viserys!"

"Long live the Dragon King!"

In such a desperate situation, the King had actually tamed a new wild dragon; now, their chances of victory were greatly increased.

Argos and Jarak were already prepared, having the Unsullied form a shield wall again to face the approaching Long-Haired People.

They didn't have time to cheer again for the miracle of Viserys mounting a dragon; they had to turn and throw themselves into a new battle.

Those terrifying savages riding unicorns—the Long-Haired People cavalry.

"Now, let us fight side by side!" Viserys said to Sunfyre. The high-pitched screeches of the Blood Eagles and griffins had arrived; a dangerous attack was imminent.

As if understanding Viserys's words, Sunfyre let out a low growl and lowered his neck.

Viserys felt the scorching temperature of Sunfyre's scales, then rose and climbed onto the dragon's back.

The golden scales looked as if they were forged from secret gold, possessing a magnificent aura.

Viserys originally had a dragon saddle, but there was no time to fiddle with it now.

Sunfyre took a moment to adjust to Viserys's weight, taking a few quick steps on the ground before beginning to take flight.

After all, he had always been free; now he had to try moving with a load.

A dragon's body consists mainly of the spine, tail, and wings; combined with bones that are light yet hard, a dragon's body is much lighter than a warhorse of equal length.

The golden dragon could still carry a tall, agile warrior like Viserys.

If it were a muscular 'Little Mountain' like Argos, he would have crushed the golden dragon instantly.

Sunfyre roared, soaring toward the heavens with the force to pierce the sky, charging at the blood sorcerer's creations in the air—the griffins and Blood Eagles.

The Three-headed Blood Eagle that appeared was even larger than the one that had died before, and its temper was even more volatile.

The Blood Griffin had the body, tail, and hind legs of a lion, and the head, wings, and front talons of an eagle.

Red blood-drop gems were embedded in the Blood Griffin's brow, cheeks, and throat, and its body was covered in flame-like patterns.

Of course, the griffin Viserys saw was not a true natural animal, but a patchwork of flesh created by blood sorcerers, stitched together and driven by Blood Magic.

Viserys heard the sound of the wind; now was the moment, and he began to fly with it.

Viserys sensed that Sunfyre was also somewhat excited; he likely had fought these blood sorcerer's pets before.

The griffins and Blood Eagles in mid-air were a bit stunned; they hadn't expected the golden dragon not to flee, but to take them on two-on-one.

The golden dragon Sunfyre was a master of ambushes and hit-and-run tactics, always taking the advantage without suffering losses.

Today, however, he began a direct confrontation with the griffin and the Blood Eagle, leaving his enemies somewhat confused.

In nature, a wild dragon's hunting style is similar to a tiger's.

Wild dragons, like tigers, are generally solitary.

A tiger's hunting method is to lie in wait or stalk to a certain distance, then suddenly attack, pouncing to bite the prey's neck so it cannot escape.

Tigers generally do not confront opponents much larger than themselves or groups of opponents; this is the caution of a hunter, seeking to kill ruthlessly and quickly while minding the cost of the kill.

A dragon's favorite hunting method is also to spiral up into the sky and then suddenly dive down.

As proud, introverted, suspicious, and fierce hunters, wild dragons are agile and careful to protect their own safety.

Wild dragons are flexible and cunning; they won't follow a master into a suicidal one-versus-many fight like a domestic dragon might.

But now, Sunfyre felt Viserys's power and was attempting to take out two opponents at once.

And this, too, was a form of trust.

Sunfyre roared angrily; as a natural overlord of the sky, a dragon was clearly faster than a Blood Griffin or a Blood Eagle, and its dragonflame was more concentrated.

Especially since Sunfyre was still a young dragon, his speed was even more rapid and keen.

Viserys felt the sky spinning; on the golden dragon's back, golden-red dragonflame surged out, exploding into a golden-red tapestry across the horizon.

The griffin and the Three-headed Blood Eagle also began to screech, spitting out flames as dark and dull as blood.

Their strength was not weak, but compared to a dragon, they were low-tier imitations in every category.

"Now, kill!"

The golden dragon Sunfyre danced through the air; a dragon's agility and speed far surpassed that of the griffin and the Blood Eagle.

Viserys felt the wind howling, so he gripped the dragon's neck tight, holding onto the gaps between the spinal plates; the dragon's scales and flesh carried a heat that, in winter, would feel like bright, warm jade.

The griffin and Blood Eagle roared incessantly in anger; they couldn't catch the golden dragon and instead were scorched several times by the dragonflame he spat.

A few hits were absorbed by their thick hides, but they were not completely immune.

The griffin and Blood Eagle split to the left and right, attempting to attack Sunfyre's neck.

While continuing their fire attacks, they attempted physical strikes.

The golden dragon Sunfyre utilized his agility to the fullest, like a dancing falcon, swift and fast.

He would often fly away immediately after an attack.

Hitting once, then taking care to bank away.

Sunfyre dodged the breath of the Blood Eagle and griffin, evaded their teeth and claws, circled behind them, and began to attack from above.

Sunfyre spat out bright golden-red flames, like a furnace, shining brighter than the sun.

The griffin and Blood Eagle, their bodies covered in wounds, also began to spit fire.

The flames exploded violently, creating sparks in the sky above.

A fire attack on a dragon rider could be fatal, but Viserys had Fire Element affinity, which was a massive 'bug'.

Viserys even drew the Sword of the True Dragon; Fire Elements gathered to form a purple-red sword light, which whistled out in a slash high in the air.

The griffin and Blood Eagle had no advantage in speed, and now they were suffering a double critical strike.

"Kill the griffin first, go for the eyes," Viserys said.

The griffin was clumsier than the Blood Eagle; after all, a lion's body is heavier, and it had only one head.

In terms of speed and agility, this thing was dead weight; its threat and dominance couldn't compare to the Three-headed Blood Eagle.

A lion's body is too heavy; even with an eagle's limbs added, it wouldn't fly particularly fast.

Sunfyre launched a fierce fire attack at the Three-headed Blood Eagle, which pursued him in a rage.

Then Sunfyre accelerated, soaring high into the air and aiming at the griffin's position.

Violent golden-red flames exploded, swirling in front of the clumsy griffin's face and hitting its eyes; in that instant, the griffin was blinded.
