Chapter 115 - Chapter 115: Swarm of Worms, Orryon the Dragon King's Undead Army

Viserys looked at the dead worms on the ground. These little creatures were truly unique.

Twisted, slimy, indescribably bloody worms.

They looked like worms with faces, or snakes with hands. Their bodies were long, and they moved quickly.

Unfortunately, their eyes were too small, and their mouths were too large.

Flames would erupt from the worms' throats, just like those of a magic dragon.

But the worms' eyes weren't very good; after all, these creatures, accustomed to living underground, operated entirely by sensing heat.

Viserys knew that Princess Aerea Targaryen, who had burst from a high fever, was placed in a bucket of ice before she died, and many such worms had erupted from her body.

This event is detailed in the book 'Fire & Blood'.

Some worms were as small as a Littlefinger, but the largest were at least as long as an adult man's arm.

Rather than Firewyrms, they might be better called Human-Faced Worms, possibly a mutated product of blood sorcery, a variant.

After all, since Firewyrms are a large category, there are naturally many sub-branches.

Valyria's blood mages were also infamous; they combined human and beast flesh, presumptuously creating bizarre, terrifying, and unspeakable monsters.

Viserys sensed the rich Fire Element points around him and could only say that the place was extremely dangerous.

Fortunately, he had activated the Fire Channeler and Water Channeler professions, giving him the power to travel far here.

[逆命运者Viserys.坦格利安, you have killed the Human-Faced Worms, creations of the Blood and Fire Wizards, and landed in the Valyrian Ruins. Strength increased→, Speed increased→, Agility increased→, Spirit increased→.]

Viserys saw all his attributes increase, especially here, his Spirit attribute also increased, which was very rare.

Bloodline and spiritual power are the fundamentals for manipulating elements.

Above these ruins, Viserys cautiously absorbed the Fire Element light particles; killing Human-Faced Worms could also absorb Fire Elements.

Many building ruins seemed like flowing springs of Fire Elements, becoming nests for Human-Faced Worms, which themselves carried abundant flames.

The expedition team advanced along the path Viserys had chosen. The rivers that occasionally appeared flowed with acid, and some were even rivers of lava.

Fire Element, a Fire Element holy land like never before.

Viserys felt the Fire Elements surging around him, as if responding to his call, joyful and excited.

Viserys tried to find items with inscriptions or magical fluctuations; after all, for archaeological artifacts, those with text or magic had the highest value.

"Listen to my command, everyone place some ice around yourselves, and do not get separated," Viserys ordered.

They had all brought some Profound Cold Ice before coming ashore. This chill was something the Human-Faced Worms disliked, but the ice melted quite quickly.

"Form a battle array!" Viserys commanded.

As the ice melted faster and faster, human body heat would also be sensed by the worms.

The ruins, strewn with dragon glass and sulfur stones, suddenly trembled. The Human-Faced Worms' slimy bodies made it easy for them to survive in the ruins.

Human-Faced Worms had human faces but were also four-legged lizard-snakes.

Their mouths opened and closed like magic dragons, with bright red flames inside their throats, but the Human-Faced Worms did not directly breathe fire.

Viserys saw the blood-red flames, they were too potent.

"These things wouldn't want to burrow into people, would they?" Viserys had a terrifying thought: Human-Faced Worms wanted to burrow into human bodies and absorb heat.

The Unsullied wielded their short spears and shields, throwing spears that flew like lightning, in perfect unison, followed by the loading and firing of crossbows.

Argos and Jarak had no time to rest; their greatswords and longbows would cover their teammates.

The seven-foot-tall Argos specifically wore a mask; these worms were truly terrifying.

Even a tank warrior like him felt a chill; his opponents were not humans, but monsters.

The first round of spears and arrows was quite effective. Blades pierced through the bodies of the Human-Faced Worms, leaving some worm corpses on the dark ground and ruins.

However, the Human-Faced Worms sensed human heat through touch and did not stop their attack.

They possessed immense power but lacked much intelligence.

Several larger Human-Faced Worms wriggled forward, seemingly losing patience, and immediately opened their mouths, spewing blood-red flames.

Their large, strange mouths opened, followed by bright flames.

"Fight and retreat," Viserys said.

Viserys stood at the front, his silver armor flowing with a glow, runes and symbols brightly illuminated, automatically blocking the fierce attack of the flames, the coldness of the armor isolating the scorching flames.

And Viserys was also a Fire Element sorcerer; these flames, in turn, became useful to him.

Viserys spread his palm, and the cheering Fire Elements slowly gathered in front of his palm, five blood-red flame arrows then gathered and splattered out, towards the direction of the Human-Faced Worms.

The blood flame arrows collided with the Firewyrms, and it was clear that the Firewyrms were not completely fire-resistant.

Moreover, at close range, the kinetic energy of the flame arrows was like real arrows.

These were smaller Human-Faced Worms, like small dragons, occasionally harmed by flames.

The blood of the Human-Faced Worms spilled onto the ground, hot as lava.

It wasn't that Viserys's power had truly reached the level of a super wizard who could summon flames, but rather that the Fire Elements here ran rampant, making them easy for him to gather.

If all else failed, Viserys also had his Water Element Affinity.

Argos's eyes widened, but he thought for a moment that it was normal for the Dragon King to possess some magic in his homeland.

Viserys became like the sharp edge of a razor. He waved his palm, and the blood-red flames of the Human-Faced Worms gathered into arrows, shooting back at the Human-Faced Worms in the opposite direction.

The small Human-Faced Worms twitched and rolled until their final death.

The combination of spears, iron shields, and crossbows also attacked. The Unsullied raised their long spears, sweeping over the dead Human-Faced Worms.

Arrows shimmering with sharp cold light shot into the faces of the Human-Faced Worms, which was also the most effective way to kill them.

The larger Human-Faced Worms also writhed and struggled, seemingly finally realizing something was wrong, but they were also pierced by Viserys's flame arrows.

Argos's greatsword wildly danced, cutting into the bodies of the Human-Faced Worms, severing them into several segments. The smaller the Human-Faced Worm, the more delicate its skin.

Mature Human-Faced Worms have very tough skin, but their speed also decreases somewhat.

Lava-like blood dripped onto the ground, creating scalding mist.

This fiery blood, like dragon's blood, dripping on the face could disfigure the skin and blind a person's eyes.

Viserys and the others went on a killing spree, while also advancing along a safer path.

The Human-Faced Worms' blood-red flames splattered like lit torches. Fortunately, these creatures didn't summon large numbers of their kind, otherwise, they wouldn't have been so safe.

Viserys also stopped meticulously studying the Human-Faced Worms and instead headed towards the ruined hills on the other side.

Viserys felt that the Fire Element in the other area seemed more stable, safer than the chaotic places.

Their adventure route still cost one Unsullied. A defensive Unsullied was penetrated by several small Human-Faced Worms through a slightly opened gap in his armor.

The Unsullied's skin became engorged and crimson, as if he had fallen into a pot of boiling oil.

The Unsullied's entire body became emaciated and shriveled, his body expanding outwards, causing his skin to constantly bulge and contract, as living creatures moved within his body.

"His Majesty Viserys, thank you for setting us free, for letting us live as warriors. Please kill me quickly, and also, please kill those slave masters," the Unsullied pleaded, then threw out his gem necklace.

"I promise you, I will kill the slave masters of Slavers Bay," Viserys said. This was Viserys's promise.

The Unsullied's flesh deepened in color until it began to burst, and finally, his skin was like roasted pork rind.

Wisps of green smoke coiled from the Unsullied's nostrils and lips.

His two eyeballs, unable to withstand the high temperature, burst open, flowing down his cheeks like long-boiled eggs.

Human-Faced Worms drilled out of the flesh and were finally all killed.

"What exactly are these things?" Argos asked.

"They are Human-Faced Worms, a variant of Firewyrms, but essentially still Firewyrms," Viserys said.

There are many rumors about Valyria's Firewyrms.

Firewyrms cannot fly in the sky, only burrow through rocks and soil.

According to ancient legends, Firewyrms existed in the Fourteen Flames long before the dragons arrived. Their hatchlings were about the size of a child's slender arm, but they could grow to be enormous and intensely disliked humans.

Firewyrms were originally supposed to remain in volcanic mines, but after Valyria became ruins, the entire city was like a large mine.

Viserys ascended this architectural hill of ruins, at least without those damned Firewyrms appearing.

Viserys saw that next to the ruins were still the ruins of fallen towers, as well as dry ponds, streams filled with acid, and even rivers filled with lava.

"What is that?"

"It's a wight," Viserys took a deep breath.

Viserys saw a person in decaying red armor wandering alone in the black mist.

The knight, with golden hair and blue eyes, wore a towering Dragon-Horn Helmet, but his eyes held a blank expression as he wandered alone.

The knight's face also bore traces of weathering, and the scars had not healed automatically, making him appear even more terrifying and grotesque.

A large red gem was embedded in the knight's brow, still shining brightly under the dark, red-clouded sky.

And on his half-naked body, there were tattoos like flame patterns, seemingly glowing, just like a Red Robe Priest of R'hllor.

Viserys knew that such tattoos also carried some magic and were found everywhere.

Viserys looked at this wight knight and thought of the Others, creations of ice magic, which also seemed to have this broken appearance.

In short, at the extremes of both fire and ice magic, such zombies exist.

"Could it be Orryon's men?" Viserys wondered.

Among the tens of thousands of troops Orryon conscripted, perhaps there was also his organized undead legion.
