Chapter 188 - Chapter 19 (Part 3)

The next day, before Blanid went for the last training session, she met up with Amelia Edemsworth and Saria Vallhall in Amelia's room, where Saria was tutored.

For the world, it was Blanid, that is Justin, who was helping the Rose of the North to study for the imminent exams, but it was only a rumor spread with the intention of making everything appear just as it was in the story that the Grand Fae revealed to Amelia.

The fact was that Amelia was helping both girls with their studies just to make everything go smoothly.

"Can we all agree that there's no chance that Rotsard will sell his soul to a deofol?"

Although the exams were starting the following day, studying was the last thing on Blanid's mind, as she brought up the subject once again.

"...I believe we can agree that if he doeofolizes it will be over for everyone, period. My mother confirmed that Trashsa… that my cousin took down the general of the kingdom without even acknowledging him. My dad said that it would be difficult to incapacitate or even just seriously wound my cousin, even if the whole family joined forces… this is messed up…"

Saria put aside the notes that Amelia prepared for her and muttered, lowering her head completely dispirited, even stopping herself from badmouthing the bleached-blond-haired youth.

"That's what I'm talking about! The story Young Miss was bestowed with has already diverged so much, it wouldn't be hard to believe that Rotsard won't defolize and won't have to die either!"

Blanid perked up and pointed out, her eyes shining with excitement.

"Ugh… You're way too obvious with how hard you're crushing on him. He might be strong, but that doesn't change how awful his personality is, you know? Have some standards."

*WHAM*

"Big words from a supposed genius who flunked her theoretical midterm exams so hard she was the first student in the history of the Royal Academy in need of remedial classes!"

Saria clicked her tongue and groaned, shaking her head at the petite girl, but Blanid wasn't going to let it slide and stood up, slamming her hands against the desk Saria was sitting by, and scoffed at her with a mocking smile.

"You little…!"

"Aren't both of you forgetting whose room you're in right now…?"

"...!"

At first, at a loss for words at the rebuttal, Saria's face turned red, and she was about to stand up from her seat, but Amelia's cold voice caused her and Blanid to freeze up.

"Listen, if you're so done with each other, why not resolve the matter with a duel instead of jabbing at each other? We could at least confirm how you two compare in terms of strength."

"..."

"..."

Amelia proposed, causing the other two to glare at each other.

"I'm fine with that, it's time for this Young Lady to realize that no amount of genius will compensate for the minimal effort she puts in."

"You did not just say that…!"

The next moment, Blanid snickered, crossing her arms and looking to the side, causing Saria to strengthen her back and glare at her with her furious golden eyes.

"There's nothing worse than wasted talent, you know?"

"What about a bitch who doesn't know her place!?"

Balnid added, but then Saria snapped back.

"Oh, there's only one bitch in this room, and it's neither I, nor the Young Miss!"

"You didn't!"

Blanid didn't even let Saria's insult properly settle when she shot back, making the silver-haired girl gasp in furious disbelief.

"Blanid. Don't forget that at the moment your status isn't enough to speak like that to a high noble. Young Lady Saria, please do keep in mind your status and mind your language."

"...I'm sorry, Young Miss…"

"Tsk."

Amelia spoke up again, separating the two. Blanid backed off and apologized to Amelia, not to Saria, though, while Saria only clicked her tongue and looked away.

"We have enough time before Blanid's final training session. I can pull some strings and get a duel approved if you're actually interested."

"Please do, Young Miss!"

"Hmph. Fine. Don't regret it later when I'll make your maid cry."

Amelia added, checking the clock, and the two other girls responded with affirmation, although with completely different attitudes.
