Speaking of the mutated boars, the handful of the remaining ones stampede away in blind panic…
The problem with that?
They broke straight through the wall surrounding the Snow Ork settlement, from which their leader ripped out a boulder that he used against Rotsard!!
"NO!"
The Snow Orks' Leader growled in panic, at first because of the other defenders being taken down, but then much, much more horrified as he noticed the monsters breaking into the settlement with women, children, and the elderly.
*WHAM*
"GUAGH!?"
His voice was cut short when Rotsard's curled fingers dug into his abdomen as the traveling shockwave of the uppercut scrambled the Snow Ork's insides and knocked the wind out of his lungs.
*thump*
"Apologize."
As the Snow Orks Leader dropped to his hands and knees, the bleached-blond-haired human demanded.
"GRAAAAAAAH!"
As an answer, he received a frenzied growl as the Snow Orks leader pushed forward, swinging his arms wildly for a chance to strike him.
After all, since he did it once, he would definitely pull it off again now that a situation called for it.
….right…?
*WHAM*
*THUMP*
But the next moment, a swift smack to the chin rattled the Snow Ork's brain, making him drop face-first onto the frosted ground and slide beside Rotsard.
"...haaa… Basically peasants, huh?"
*click*
He let out a deep sigh, shaking his head with an annoyed expression before snapping his fingers.
*SHING*
"BU-GHIIIH…!"
At his command, several ice pillars erupted from within the settlement high above the defensive wall, and squeals of the impaled gedwyld-polluted monsters filled the air as they shot into the sky.
Rotsard stopped for a moment, looking to the side with a frown as he considered something in silence.
He glanced between the gate of the walled settlement and all the Snow Orks he had incapacitated, and started wondering…
If the Snow Orks were citizens of Nordenthele, they would know that in case of attack by monsters polluted with gedwyld, they should call for help to the noble whose territory they've settled in… If the situation was really bad, they would select a small group that could fight back but still never leave their village unguarded.
But since those here were acting more like peasants or worse, peasants from other nations, it would make sense if they believed themselves to be forced to act fully on their own, and in their peasant brains, they would gather all able-bodied men and confront the threat head-on.
From what Rotsard knew about their race, the men are far stronger physically and have more talent with magic, while women were only slightly stronger than human men, although still around eight feet tall on average…
If the settlement was unlucky, then if Rotsard left, and it would take roughly around an hour for either of the men he beat up to regain consciousness, then even a single monster polluted by gedwyld could finish off the incapacitated men and then decimate the settlement.
….and that didn't quite sit well with the bleached-blond-haired youth…
"Why the hel did you have to attack me!?"
*thump*
"...gugh…!"
Rotsard scoffed in annoyance, stepping toward the Snow Orks' leader and kicking him lightly in the stomach… well, lightly for his standard, as the force of the hit was enough for, even though he was unconscious, the air escaping from the Snow Ork's lungs creating a sound.
Despite looking extremely displeased, Rotsard rolled his eyes and raised his hand, waving it around slightly while ephemeral wings sprouted above his back and a circle of light spread out from below him.
With no spell, mere mana manipulation, the ice and frost beneath the unconscious Snow Orks was stirred, carrying and gathering them all in one place before the whole construct slid towards its creator.
"..."
Rotsard didn't say a thing, merely turning around and walking towards the blocked gate to the walled settlement.
Despite the wide opening in the wall itself not much further to the side, the bleached-blond-haired youth didn't even bother to spare it a glance.
There was no one manning the walls, so it wasn't difficult to figure out that there was no one around the gate to open it for him.
It looked sturdy but simple, the one opening inwards, with a single beam blocking it from the other side as a locking mechanism
*thump*
Rotsard didn't even bother to make any kind of gesture before the ice mana created two pillars that lifted the beam and carried it to the side, allowing him to push it open without any issue as he unceremoniously invited himself in.
With him entered the construct carrying all the unconscious men, and no one came out to greet him, even while he passed by the giant ice spikes impaling the last mutated boars.
"Haaaa…"
Rotsard sighed in annoyance, and within the next second, new ice pillars closed the gate, and the old ones put the locking beam back in place. At the same time, the destroyed wall was patched together by thick ice with a rough surface that clouded over, turning itself into a shape and structure similar to other stones.
"HEY! COME OUT AND TEND TO YOUR WOUNDED! I'VE ALREADY BROUGHT THEM IN! I'M NOT GOING TO DELIVER EACH ONE BACK TO THEIR DOORSTEP!"
As if completing those tasks marked the end of his patience, Rotsard snarled furiously, his voice echoing from the peculiar buildings of Snow Orks' architecture.
