Chapter 88 - Chapter 19 (Part 4)

After safely evacuating from the spot where the finale of the 1st volume took place, things seemed to have returned to how they were before the supposed future hero and his supposed love interest started to attend the Royal Academy.

... to how things were before the whole act began...

Amelia Edemsworth was taking a bath while her servant was taking care of everything else, moving around the bathroom quite busily, but with a certain lightheartedness.

Just as if that was their calling, not the whole rescuing the world or being the future hero.

"...?"

As the servant was picking the clothes left on the bathroom floor by the noble lady, the feeling of cold dampness took them by surprise.

"...!"

And considering that the girl in the bathtub flinched and turned red the moment she noticed her servant's reaction, it wasn't something to be proud about…

"Young Miss… did you… wet yourse…"

"I did NOT!"

The servant asked hesitantly, while picking up the damp clothes, causing a rather violent reaction.

"I…! That spell of his hit the ground and frosted it over! When I slipped, I ended up dragging my butt through that! There is no other reason why my skirt, tights, and undergarments are wet! I did not wet myself in fear! Understood!?"

Amelia Edemsworth splashed around, standing up in the bathtub and roared through great embarrassment, while pointing her finger at the bundle in her servant's arms.

She was doing her best to act overbearing and authoritative, but her current disposition certainly did not carry much of either of those.

No matter what excuses she made and how much she wanted to deny the truth…

"...but of course, Young Miss. Now please, get back into the water, or you might catch a cold."

The hesitation in the servant's voice lasted less than a heartbeat, and the next moment they were nodding their head and pointing out…

"...uuuu…"

…which Amelia listened to and sat down while letting out an embarrassed cry until she even hid her mouth underwater and started blowing bubbles while her face, ears, and neck were turning more and more red the more she thought about her shameful display.

"...Blanid… do… do you think he noticed that…?'

"...!"

After a little while, Amelia relaxed a bit and leaned back before turning to her servant and asking in shame, and the servant flinched... They haven't heard their real name in over a year after all, and it sounded not just nostalgic, but even slightly foreign... which was a bit sad...

"..."

"..."

The two looked at each other.

The servant did want to reassure their master, but at the same time, the servant did want to get back at their master for all that she had made them go through…

Besides, with how Rotsard was, who could say whether he was able to discern the… ammonia… from afar or not.

"It depends, Young Miss… As long as the wind was blowing away from him, he would not."

In the end, the servant did give in to the urge, took a deep breath, and said.

"...I don't remember if there even was wind…"

"There was."

Amelia grumbled, and the servant answered immediately, causing her to flinch and stare at them.

"...well…? Which way did it blow…?"

"..."

The noble lady asked anxiously, but the servant purposefully looked away to cause a misunderstanding.

"Uuuuu… That rotten bastard! Why was he even there?! And why it had to be him?! That rotten bastard…! I don't know how he cheated, but I know… I KNOW that he cheated somehow!"

"..."

The noble lady continued to complain pitifully, slowly tapping her hands against the water's surface causing only some tiny ripples, while her servant remained silent.

…but smirking to themselves while the noble lady couldn't see it…
