Location: The Motherplace
Third Planet of the First Solar System • Universe Wyverno
The journey to the third planet took hours.
Inside the Chrono Slice Drive the walls vibrated softly with blue energy while streams of distorted light stretched endlessly beyond the glass panels. The machine hummed with deep mechanical pulses as it tore through the fabric between planetary paths.
VMMMMMMMM
Oblivion sat near the side of the chamber watching the lights outside bend unnaturally. Every few seconds strange reflections flashed across the glass as if entire worlds were appearing and disappearing for an instant.
Lazard stood near the control panel adjusting the coordinates carefully.
"The Motherplace is different from Planet Hurricane" Lazard said without looking back. "Do not expect it to feel normal."
Oblivion crossed his arms. "You say that about every place."
"This time I mean it."
The machine suddenly slowed.
KRRRRRRRRK
A bright white light swallowed the chamber.
Then silence.
The doors opened slowly.
PSSSSSHHHH
Oblivion stepped out first.
And froze.
The sky above the Motherplace looked alive.
Massive rivers of glowing colors moved across the heavens like oceans flowing upside down. Fragments of floating land drifted far above the planet connected by streams of golden energy. Strange transparent creatures floated through the air slowly pulsing with light before vanishing into nothingness.
The ground beneath them was made of dark crystal stone covered in glowing cracks that shifted color every few seconds.
Blue.
Purple.
Gold.
Then blue again.
Far away enormous trees stretched beyond the clouds their silver leaves shining under multiple suns hanging across different parts of the sky.
Oblivion stared at everything around him.
"What is this place..."
Lazard walked beside him calmly.
"The Motherplace."
A distant sound echoed across the horizon.
OOOOOOOOMMMMM
Oblivion looked toward the source.
In the distance giant rings floated above the land spinning slowly around each other while sparks of energy drifted from them like falling stars.
Lazard noticed his expression.
"Every moment here creates infinite possibilities."
Oblivion looked at him.
"What does that even mean?"
Lazard bent down and picked up a small crystal from the ground.
"This."
He tossed it into the air.
The crystal suddenly split into dozens of versions of itself midair before collapsing back into one object and falling into Lazard's hand again.
Oblivion narrowed his eyes.
"What..."
"The Motherplace reacts to possibilities" Lazard explained. "Every action creates countless outcomes here. Most collapse instantly. Some remain."
Oblivion looked around again.
Suddenly he noticed something strange.
Far ahead he saw himself standing near one of the crystal cliffs.
Another Oblivion.
The figure looked toward him for one second before disappearing completely.
Oblivion stepped back slightly.
"You saw that right?"
Lazard nodded calmly.
"Possible versions."
Oblivion stayed silent after that.
Hours passed as they explored the planet.
They crossed fields of glowing grass that changed direction without wind. They walked beside rivers floating above the ground flowing through the air like silver snakes. They passed ancient broken structures covered in symbols that shifted shape whenever Oblivion looked away.
At one point they entered a marketplace built beneath giant floating stones.
Different beings moved through the area.
Tall figures wearing masks made of black glass.
Creatures made entirely of light.
Silent travelers wrapped in silver cloth.
Nobody looked surprised to see them.
The Motherplace felt ancient.
Oblivion stopped near a small stand where an old man was crafting tiny mechanical birds from glowing metal.
The birds flapped their wings before flying into the air.
TIK TIK TIK
The old man looked at Oblivion.
"You carry death around you."
Oblivion stayed silent.
The old man returned to his work.
"As do many others."
Later they reached a massive structure near the edge of the planet.
A long platform extended outward above empty space. Beneath it endless clouds moved slowly under golden light.
At the end of the platform stood two stone chairs facing the sky.
Lazard sat down first.
Oblivion sat beside him.
For the first time in hours there was silence.
No battle.
No training.
Only distant sounds from the strange world below.
Oblivion leaned back slightly looking upward.
The sky stretched endlessly above them filled with moving lights and distant stars.
He spoke quietly.
"I wonder how large the universe is."
Lazard looked toward the stars.
"Infinite."
Oblivion glanced at him.
"There are infinite universes" Lazard continued. "And each universe has its own dimensions."
The wind moved softly across the platform.
"Some universes are peaceful. Some are dying. Some were destroyed long before we were born."
Oblivion listened carefully.
Lazard continued staring upward.
"And beyond them..."
He paused.
"There are things even older."
Oblivion remembered the place beyond existence.
The place where he met Aethron
A small silence followed.
Far above them a glowing object crossed the sky leaving behind a silver trail.
Oblivion watched it disappear into the stars.
For the first time since his parents died he felt something different.
Not anger.
Not grief.
Curiosity.
The universe suddenly felt much larger than revenge.
And somewhere beyond those endless stars something was waiting.
To be continue.
