Damain entered the corridor and found Kor standing beside the door, his back straight and his hands respectfully folded before him. The moment Damain stepped out and began walking, Kor fell into step beside him, though the hint of disbelief in his expression was impossible to hide. He had guarded the prince long enough to understand how difficult Amon was to deal with.
The former Minister of War was proud, ancient, intelligent, and powerful enough that even many noble families treated him with caution. Yet less than a day after Damain had spoken to him in the dungeon, the man had submitted completely.
