Chapter 54 - Chapter 37(2)

Lin Che led Luo Jiayin by the hand through the crumbling buildings, their shadows stretched long by moonlight. They found a relatively intact spacious room with a carved wooden bed. The bedposts featured lifelike phoenixes with every feather detailed. Though dusty, the luxury of its craftsmanship still showed.

"Who in Xuantian Sect lived here? This bed is huge," Lin Che muttered, his eyes sliding toward Luo Jiayin.

Her face flushed. "What are you thinking?"

"Sleeping. What else?" Lin Che put on his most innocent face, eyes twinkling with mischief.

The night deepened. Moonlight streamed through broken lattices as Lin Che diligently worked on Luo Jiayin. A bit too vigorously—thunk—his forehead hit the phoenix carving on the bedpost.

Click.

The bed's center panel flipped open and they tumbled down with the blankets.

"Ahh!"

Thankfully, stone steps broke their fall. They scrambled up, clothes in disarray.

"It's all your fault for being so rough! You broke the bed!" Luo Jiayin adjusted her clothes, face crimson as a ripe apple. "Absolutely ridiculous!"

Lin Che lit a corner oil lamp. To his surprise, the entire passage illuminated. Moonlight stones in the walls lit up one by one like a starry sky, bright as day. Cyan jade steps led down, lined with defensive runes that still held faint spiritual power despite their age.

"Shut your crow mouth," Lin Che chuckled.

Only thirty-six steps led to a heavy stone door carved with "Xuantian Secret Vault" in ancient script—each stroke pulsing with sword intent. Lin Che pushed hard and the door rumbled open, dense spiritual energy flooding out.

The view opened up before them.

A ten-zhang square vault filled with bookshelves holding thousands of ancient texts—cultivation manuals, alchemy notes, everything imaginable. Dozens of jade chests in the center revealed treasures that dazzled the eyes, their spiritual mists painting the room in rainbow colors:

- Purple Jade Ganoderma: 3,000-year-old spirit mushroom, crystal clear with a purple aura. A miraculous healing medicine that can regrow flesh and bone.

- Dragon Blood Grass: Leaves like dragon scales, dark gold with veins that seemed to pulse with dragon blood. A body-forging treasure that tempers muscles and bones.

- Starlight Sand: Brilliant as the Milky Way, each grain holds star power. A forging material that upgrades treasures to Spirit Treasure rank.

- Ice Soul Needles: A set of 49 needles, transparent as ice, radiating bone-chilling cold. Can freeze Nascent Souls solid.

- Five Elements Spirit Stones: 100 top-grade stones for each element, their spiritual energy nearly liquid.

- Heavenly Sword Tome: Xuantian Sect's complete nine-level sword art, recorded on ten-thousand-year jade.

- Boundary-Breaking Pills: Three bottles of ten pills each, specially designed to breakthrough from Spirit Formation to Refining Void. Dragon patterns swirl on each pill.

- Mystic Maiden of the Nine Heavens Scroll: A painting so lifelike it seems to hide profound mysteries.

- Soul Nurturing Wood: Nourishes the primordial spirit and repairs divine sense, effective even for Refining Void cultivators.

- Nine Heavens Fertile Soil: A fist-sized lump weighing over a thousand jin—the ultimate soil for growing spirit herbs.

"Good heavens..." Luo Jiayin covered her mouth, eyes wide with shock. "This... this is enough to build a medium-sized sect! Xuantian Sect actually kept such a stash."

"Looks like Xuantian Sect didn't hand over everything after all," Lin Che grinned. "We're filthy rich now. Those Xuanjian idiots couldn't even raid properly."

He pulled out five storage bags—loot from those Xuanjian minions he'd killed. Perfect timing.

"Pack everything! Take whatever we can!" Lin Che exclaimed. "If the bags fill up, use your clothes!"

They split the work—Lin Che handled spirit stones and materials while Luo Jiayin gathered manuals and pills. Storage bags bulged one by one, nearly bursting. Ancient texts went in carefully, spirit stones were swept in by the armful, pill bottles clinked musically.

"So much left..." Luo Jiayin stared at the remaining treasures, reluctant to leave them.

"Brothers can move the rest tomorrow," Lin Che patted his five full storage bags, utterly satisfied. "Seal the remaining chests with restrictions for now."

They climbed back to their room and remade the bed. Luo Jiayin curled against his chest. "How will you use these resources? Share with the brothers?"

Lin Che gazed at the moonlight outside, a fierce light in his eyes. "In five days, Xuanjian Sect comes but never returns. I'll use these resources to weave a net that catches them all. Their blood will avenge those who died."

[System: Host's killing intent off the charts! Suggest digesting resources first—don't get greedy and choke. P.S. Target Luo Jiayin's heartbeat accelerating. Recommend host makes his move.]

"You..." Luo Jiayin lightly poked his chest. "Always so confident. But... that's exactly what I love about you."

The night wind blew. The God Killing Pavilion's rebirth had only just begun.
