Lilith
The moment I entered the hall, Alpha Darius crossed the distance between us quickly.
"Are you alright?" he asked, his gaze sweeping over me. "Did they hurt you anywhere? Were the injuries severe? How long were you unconscious? Have the healers checked everything properly?"
He stopped himself just short of closing the distance completely, as though remembering at the last second who I was and where we stood.
"I heard about what happened, and I—" He cut himself off, running a hand through his hair before continuing, "Have you been resting at all?"
Before I could even formulate a response, he took a step closer, his hand lifting instinctively, but just as quickly, he stopped himself. His fingers curled slightly before he lowered his hand.
I gaped in shock. No one had ever spoken to or shown me this amount of concern in my entire existence. I did not know what to do with it.
