Chapter 117 - Chapter 117: Ragnarok Is Coming

Lucas had no idea that a casual diary entry had triggered so much speculation.

Especially Nick Fury, who was vaguely guessing the existence of the Ancient One and the Time Variance Authority (TVA).

Although they didn't know the name "TVA," they had correctly deduced from Lucas's behavior that he feared an unknown entity that managed the timeline.

Their guesses were surprisingly close to the truth. But they couldn't possibly know that even time itself was being managed by bureaucrats.

Fury and his team were racking their brains trying to figure out the "Red Line." What actions would the TVA consider "crossing the line"? What would get Lucas discovered and erased?

But Lucas knew exactly what the line was.

It was creating a massive deviation in the timeline. Winning when you should lose. Surviving when you should die. Those were the things the TVA pruned.

Given his power level, Lucas could easily cause a Butterfly Effect. If the TVA noticed him, they would have pruned him the moment he transmigrated.

Since he was still alive and well, there were only two possibilities:

His Butterfly Effect wasn't severe enough yet. As long as key nexus events remained unchanged, the timeline was stable. The TVA was already gone. The existence of this timeline itself was proof.

We were now in the era of the Multiverse, post-He Who Remains. The Sacred Timeline had collapsed.

Confirming this was crucial for Lucas. It allowed him to act more boldly, shedding his initial timidity.

If he met the Ancient One, he could reason with her. But if he met the TVA? He'd be pruned or arrested instantly. No negotiation.

[The destruction of Asgard is almost inevitable. Ragnarok is coming. Thor will be crowned King in a fishing village, becoming the Fisherman King (lol)!

Queen Frigga probably never imagined she would die because of one of Loki's pranks. It really breaks the heart.

Maybe I should warn them? But would that change the predetermined future? Or would Odin think I have ulterior motives?]

Lucas had thought about warning them. But Asgard's destruction was practically set in stone. Odin knew it too.

Odin was suppressing Hela. But Hela would break free eventually.

That would be the true end. Hela drew power from Asgard itself. The longer she stayed on Asgard, the stronger she became. Her growth was exponential.

No one could suppress her then.

Lucas suspected Odin wouldn't have died so soon if not for Hela. Odin was constantly draining his own life force to keep her seal intact. The strain worsened his old injuries, accelerating his death.

Look at Zeus or Frigga. Gods of that tier didn't just die of old age in a few thousand years.

Once Hela was released, the only way to stop her was to destroy Asgard—the source of her power.

Unless Thor could achieve a breakthrough to Skyfather Level in a short time.

That was the only other way to avoid the worst-case scenario.

If Ragnarok were easy to solve, Odin wouldn't be so desperate. Lucas guessed Odin had been searching for a solution until the very end, but found none.

Why else would Odin wait until now to rush Thor's training? Why force him to grow up so fast?

Because Odin was out of time. He knew he couldn't hold Hela back much longer.

Even a Skyfather like Odin was helpless. What could Lucas do?

Of course, there was another path: Lucas could level up to Skyfather himself, defeat Hela, and save everyone.

Skyfather Level. That was the dividing line between "Strong" and "Top Tier" in this universe.

If you weren't a Skyfather, you weren't really a player on the cosmic stage.

Inside S.H.I.E.L.D., the team looked at each other in dismay.

Previously, they hoped Lucas meant "the landscape would be destroyed" or "the culture would change."

But now, Lucas explicitly confirmed it: Ragnarok is imminent.

Under Ragnarok, Asgard would be totally destroyed.

And what about Earth?

Earth would suffer the fallout. And then the Purple Potato would snap his fingers, and half the universe would die.

"Well, that settles it. No more wishful thinking," Coulson said, breaking the silence.

"Ragnarok isn't just a myth. It's happening in our lifetime. And it's unavoidable," Fury nodded, extinguishing the last spark of hope in his heart.

Combined with the earlier entry about Tony saving the universe from a crisis, the picture was clear.

"Write a report. A full assessment," Fury ordered. "If we have to deal with a post-Asgard world, what do we need? How much budget? What personnel? I want a plan for a broken world."

A world without Asgard's protection.

"Earth has to walk on its own now. We have to face alien threats by ourselves," Fury said heavily.

He rubbed his temples.

Now came the hard part: reporting this to the World Security Council.

He couldn't reveal the diary. But he needed them to approve a massive budget increase and authorize the recruitment of "enhanced" individuals.

It wasn't going to be easy.
