Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: Magic: The Great Tsunami & Mystique is No Longer a Mutant

"How can a man fight a god?" Vincent muttered to himself.

Jessica Jones had passed out. She was in bad shape.

He was running across the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, carrying her back to New York.

The battle was already over. His Hydro-Kinesis, amplified by the ocean environment, was simply unfair. The Carrier Strike Group didn't stand a chance. It wasn't a fight; it was an execution.

Vincent arrived at his Long Island villa.

He bandaged Jessica's broken limbs and began channeling Dragon Elephant Wisdom.

Don't doubt it. Internal energy (Qi) heals injuries—both internal and external—better than any modern medicine. Combined with Jessica's own enhanced healing factor, her recovery speed was miraculous.

Bones knit together. Bruises faded.

An hour later, sweat beaded on Vincent's forehead. He withdrew his energy.

"Stabilized. She needs a week of bed rest," Vincent concluded.

He went diving, caught some fresh fish, and cooked a meal, leaving it on her nightstand.

Then he left.

This wasn't over.

San Diego Naval Base.

Vincent teleported via water currents to the coast of California.

San Diego was the home of the Pacific Fleet. The second-largest naval base in the US. Nuclear submarines, destroyers, 98 ships in total.

And 250,000 veterans living nearby.

Vincent checked his Desire Points. The Carrier Strike Group destruction had only netted him 24 million points because the fleet was on a silent mission—no news coverage yet.

"Let the US military eat this loss in silence," Vincent decided.

He activated Hydro-Kinesis: Sovereign Class.

He stood on the waves, feeling the infinite power of the Pacific Ocean. He was the Sea King. He was Poseidon.

[Magic: The Great Tsunami]

Vincent pushed his hands forward.

The water level in San Diego harbor dropped rapidly, exposing the seabed.

Woooooo-oooooo!

Sirens wailed across the base. Soldiers watched in horror as a wall of water, thirty meters high, rose from the deep.

It wasn't a natural wave. It was a hungry beast.

The tsunami swallowed the entire base. It surged thirty kilometers inland, crushing ships, submarines, and barracks like toys.

Ten minutes later, Vincent reversed the flow, dragging the wreckage out to sea.

It was over.

[System Update]

[Desire Points: +450 Million]

Attacking a major US city base was different. The fear was instant. The news would be apocalyptic.

Total Desire Points: 863 Million.

Vincent returned to Long Island in less than thirty minutes.

Jessica was awake, crying silently in bed.

"It's okay. I'm here," Vincent hugged her.

"I thought you died," she sobbed.

"Captain Blonsky was smart, but he didn't know who he was fighting," Vincent said arrogantly. "The war with the military ends today."

His phone rang. Unknown number.

"What have you done, you demon?!" General Ross's voice was old, broken.

"I told you I could destroy your fleets," Vincent said coldly. "But you old men always think you can control everything. Consider this divine punishment."

"Enough," Ross begged. "Please. Just... be a lawful citizen of New York."

"Why do you always think you can beat me?"

"Mr. Hall, we accept your existence. You are a VIP. We will never move against you again."

"We?"

"The Council. The establishment," Ross whispered.

"Good. Remember this," Vincent warned. "I prefer doing business. I want to be a good citizen. Don't make me be a demon again."

He hung up.

Jessica stared at him. Her "little boy" had just brought the US government to its knees.

Vincent fed her, healed her again, and then moved her to a new safehouse in Hell's Kitchen—a renovated factory building he had bought.

"This is yours now," Vincent said, kissing her cheek.

He left her to rest.

Los Angeles. That Night.

Magneto stood on a highway.

He had sensed the magical tsunami. He knew the Ice Demon was responsible. But he had other priorities.

"Raven gave me the intel," Magneto said.

A convoy of prison trucks approached. They were transporting mutants to the Worthington Labs for "curing."

Magneto raised his hand.

The trucks flew into the air and crashed down.

His Brotherhood—Pyro, Juggernaut, Multiple Man—swarmed the wreckage.

They freed the prisoners.

"You saved me," Magneto said to Mystique, who was disguised as a guard.

Suddenly, a guard aimed a "Cure Gun" at Magneto.

"No!" Mystique jumped in front of him.

Thwip.

The dart hit her chest.

She fell. Her blue scales receded. Her yellow eyes turned human brown. She was naked, vulnerable, and... normal.

"You saved me," Magneto said again, but his voice was cold.

"Erik?" Mystique looked at him, terrified.

"I'm sorry, my dear," Magneto said, turning his back. "You are no longer one of us."

Pyro looked at her with pity, then fear.

"She was so beautiful," Magneto sighed as they walked away, leaving her on the side of the road.

Mystique lay there, abandoned by the family she had fought for.

She was human. She was nothing.

She stumbled down the road, shivering. She had only one number to call.

"Vincent..." she whispered into the phone. "It's Raven."

"Raven? What's wrong?" Vincent asked immediately.

"I... I became human..." she sobbed.

"Raven, you were always human," Vincent said gently. "Mutants are just humans with an extra gene. You are still you."

Mystique fell silent.

"Where are you?"

She gave him her location.

"Stay there. I have a friend in LA."

Vincent called Happy Hogan.

"Happy? It's Vincent Hall."

"Mr. Hall!" Happy perked up.

"Pick up a friend of mine. She's in trouble. Bring her to New York."

"On it," Happy said. He looked at Tony Stark, who was building the Mark III suit.

"Boss, Mr. Hall needs a favor."

"Take the jet," Tony waved his hand.
