Chapter 99 - Chapter 12: Hot Spring Encounter

"Boom~ Boom~~ Boom" After Kuesumi and Kurumi emerged from the hot spring inn, they saw the city ablaze.

"Ah~ la, this matter has gotten a bit out of hand!" Kurumi covered her small mouth, sighing, but Kuesumi could clearly feel her inner joy. She probably found it very amusing. However, Kuesumi wouldn't let Kurumi join the fun. With her cheating hearing, she easily heard the roars like a tyrannical demon king from the city.

'Let me go to the hot spring!'

'Don't assume I'm a sick cat just because I'm not showing my power.'

'Mere tiles trying to block humanity's progress? A hundred trillion years too early!'

'Turn into basic molecules and go reflect!'

'You scoundrel, always spouting sarcastic remarks, saying that my performance against Spirits is so terrible? Then you try fighting them! If you're lucky, you might even leave behind a small bone.'

'I can't stay young forever either!'

'I'm also working very hard to maintain my skin's age under pressure and lack of sleep.'

'Don't underestimate a woman's charm!'

'You say I'm almost 30! I'm only 27, at least get a woman's age right!'

'Constantly talking about marriage, marriage, marriage.'

'A woman's happiness isn't just about marriage.'

A certain AST captain was currently in a berserk state. This earth-shattering rage expressed her current mental state. If Kurumi were to go now, the scene would probably be even worse, like pouring oil on a fire.

"It looks like we can't call a taxi, and whether the subway is usable is questionable. What do you say! Fly back, or walk back?" Kuesumi asked Kurumi.

"Let's walk back! A stroll like this is quite nice." Kurumi happily linked arms with Kuesumi, the two like a sweet couple.

The two chatted and laughed as they walked along the path, unexpectedly encountering Shiori and her group, who were heading towards the hot spring inn.

"Kotori, look, is that...?"

"That's right, it's Thor, who hasn't appeared since her last appearance. I didn't expect her to be able to live normally in the real world without causing a Spatial Quake. The person next to her must be a friend she recently met!"

Kotori analyzed while chewing on a lollipop. She hadn't even recognized Nightmare, who had killed tens of thousands of people. It seemed Kurumi's ability to conceal her aura was quite good! Or perhaps Kotori simply hadn't recognized all the Spirits in the real world.

"Young lady, staring at people like that is very impolite." Kuesumi had noticed them long ago, but she hadn't expected the Female Loreteng King's bloodline to awaken so quickly. It seemed the spiritual power in this world was very similar to natural energy.

"S-s-sorry," Shiori quickly bowed in apology.

"Judging by your expressions, do you know me?"

Kuesumi put on a masterful performance. Even without mind-reading, Kuesumi recognized them. But as mentioned before, casually saying the name of someone you've just met for the first time is either idiotic or foolish. Their professions and identities as Spirits are not publicly known. If someone could recognize them at first glance, and wasn't a friend, family, or acquaintance, wouldn't that make them wary?

"No, it's just that you're so beautiful. We were rude to you, and we hope you can forgive us."

Kotori said, half-truthfully, half-falsely. As expected of the Black Kotori, the Commander at the time. She instantly thought of a way to skip the topic that would make the other party wary.

"Thank you for the compliment, then we won't disturb your time."

Kuesumi politely bid farewell to the group of girls and walked away, holding Kurumi's hand. As she left, she glanced at Reine, who was standing behind the group of little ones, making Reine's back feel cold. She thought Kuesumi had discovered something.

"Dear, why didn't you chat with them more?" Kurumi pouted and walked beside Kuesumi, looking somewhat jealous.

"Stop messing around, that girl should be your target." Kuesumi didn't turn to look at Kurumi, she just kept walking and talking.

"Uh~~ Although I don't know why the boy became a girl, the Spirit power within her is not fake." Kurumi curiously glanced at Shiori's back, completely unaware that the mastermind was right beside her. What happened to the boy? Did he go to Thailand? Was he tired of being a man? If Shiori knew, she would surely roar: 'I love my brother very much, okay!'

"Go have a good time! I'll support you." Kuesumi stopped walking and said. She hadn't originally intended to get involved in the plot; she wanted to train Kurumi.

"Well~! Really, dear, don't make me so touched." Kurumi touched her face where no tears existed, but she was extremely happy with Kuesumi's ability to probe. It seemed she could have a friend to talk to, giving her lonely heart a place to belong. After all, she had been lonely for so many years, and it was hard to find a friend to talk to. Moreover, her wish had always made her walk alone in the darkness.

"Let's go!" Kuesumi smiled and extended her hand to Kurumi.

Kurumi tightly grasped this light that brought a glimmer of hope to her lonely life, an uncontrollable brilliant smile appearing on her face. It wasn't a fake, feigned smile, but a genuine smile from the bottom of her heart.

The two figures gradually disappeared into the sunset.

When they returned home, Kuesumi saw Kurumi happily preparing textbooks and other things.

"Are you happy going to school?" Kuesumi looked at the joyful Kurumi, recalling her miserable days in school. Back then, she wished she could strap dozens of pounds of explosives and blow that harmful thing called school to ashes!

Now, recalling it, she suddenly felt a sense of nostalgia. Of course, the college entrance exam was an exception. That was simply a nightmare, because her family was not short of money. So, Zeus, who was still in her 'Fei Ge' identity at the time, had no fear of the college entrance exam. But the moment Fei Ge actually walked into the college entrance exam hall, she was still shocked by the power it displayed. As soon as the test papers were distributed, someone cried. It seemed it was too difficult; some even jumped off a building after the first session.

"I really can't understand your students from District 11," Kuesumi said, drinking red tea and suppressing her nostalgic feelings. She muttered!

"Did you say something, dear?"

The sharp-eared Kurumi still heard a little.

"Nothing, you continue! Tonight, is it takeout or are we eating out?" Kuesumi asked Kurumi.

"Wait a moment, I'll cook noodles for you."

Kurumi happily glanced at Kuesumi, and her words made Kuesumi frown.

Are you sure you're not trying to poison me?

"Never mind, you get ready! I'll make some home-cooked dishes."

Kuesumi said to Kurumi and walked into the kitchen. Don't think Kuesumi can't cook; for a top foodie, not being able to cook your favorite food is a disgrace.

So far, Kuesumi had experienced the dark cuisine of Ran Hongxia, Fifth Sister Hestia, Sera, Rin, and a few others; Kurumi's was barely edible.
