On the distant battlefield, Doomsday had finally lost the ability to fight back under Heisenberg's relentless onslaught.
Using the chains wrapped around Doomsday, Heisenberg tested every attack method at his disposal on the monster.
It wasn't that Heisenberg couldn't handle Doomsday. At this point, killing Doomsday would have been far too simple for him!
This Doomsday had never been killed by divine metal before. If Heisenberg truly wanted him dead, he could probably slice Doomsday to dust in just a few moves!
But he didn't.
Why?
Because he wanted to probe Doomsday's traits as thoroughly as possible while still holding sufficient countermeasures!
Because of this, even when Batman and Lois Lane met up in the distance, Heisenberg's combo assault did not let up.
Earlier, before Heisenberg had even joined the battle, Lois had received a call from Alfred.
When Alfred explained the battlefield situation over the phone and stated that humanity needed the Kryptonite spear to deal with the monster Doomsday, Lois—despite being a mere mortal—agreed without hesitation.
A woman who could mesmerize Superman so completely—how could she not possess a sufficiently strong and exceptional heart?
But when she arrived at the spot where Superman and Batman had fought, Batman was already there!
Seeing the large bat figure in the distance, Lois instinctively frowned. She did not like this person who wanted to kill Clark. She really, really didn't like him!
But right now, Clark needed the help of this damn bat!
And at this moment, Batman…
His eyes held a trace of bewilderment!
In his memory, that spear had definitely been left near the sculpture in the center of the hall.
So where was the spear?
While continuously scanning the area, Batman deployed the micro Bat-drones from his belt, ordering them to target the Kryptonite signal and conduct a rigorous search of the entire building.
He just hoped that someone hadn't taken advantage of the chaos to steal the spear!
Just then, Batman noticed Lois approaching him from behind.
Batman quickly turned around and said quietly to Superman's girlfriend, "Thank you for accepting Alfred's invitation. However, I no longer need your help finding the spear. Your only task now is to leave this dangerous place! My Batmobile is parked at the entrance. I've set it to autopilot. Hurry, get in and go somewhere safe!"
While speaking, Bruce turned back around and moved forward, following the faint Kryptonite signal.
Watching Batman search for the signal so cautiously, Lois pursed her lips in exasperation. This big bat was far too serious, more than she had imagined.
So she took the initiative, running toward Batman while quietly explaining, "Stop searching with your drones and follow me! After you all left, I threw that damn spear into the pool!"
Saying this, even though Lois was still displeased with Batman, a look of embarrassment couldn't help but appear on her face.
Hearing Lois's explanation, Batman nodded in understanding, then immediately began running after her. As he ran, he sighed.
Women!
Next, when he saw Lois point toward the distant pool, he sprinted to the edge and leaped right in. Within a dozen or so seconds, Batman surfaced, Kryptonite spear in hand.
After leaping out of the pool, Batman ran straight to the Batmobile with Lois. He lightly pressed his wrist twice, and the Batmobile instantly split apart, a simple yet fully functional Batcycle appearing beside it.
Bruce mounted the motorcycle and spoke to Lois in a tone that brooked no refusal. "This is not the time to be willful, Lois! Get in my car and leave the battlefield. It's for your own good and Superman's!"
"I understand, I'll leave. But please, take good care of Clark, I beg you!!!"
Lois looked at Bruce with worry and pleading, and that gaze weighed heavily on Bruce. He silently started the motorcycle and gave Lois a firm nod.
But as he rode toward the battlefield, a hint of perplexity lingered in his mind.
Your lover is that ridiculously strong. Between us, who exactly is taking care of whom?
…
Meanwhile, on Heisenberg's side, Wonder Woman and Clark had no intention of simply watching Heisenberg handle everything on his own. Not long after Bruce left, they resolved to join the attack on Doomsday.
Wonder Woman knocked heavily on her shield and said to Clark, "Kal-El, if Bruce brings back the Kryptonite spear, both you and your great-grandfather will lose your combat abilities. And if the battle is at a critical juncture then, your great-grandfather could be severely injured from the sudden loss of strength! Before that, we must take over the fight—or rather, I must take over the fight! Go and tell your great-grandfather to slow down his assault on that monster and let me take charge of the battlefield. When Bruce returns, I, who won't be affected by Kryptonite, will use the spear to end the monster's life!"
With that, Diana soared into the sky, slamming her shield right into Doomsday's face!
Clark followed behind her into the fray. Heisenberg hadn't kept the battle on the ground, so the two of them circled Doomsday in the sky, constantly maneuvering. Every time Doomsday showed even the slightest sign of counterattacking, one of them would charge up and land a vicious blow!
Yet even when just trying to chase Doomsday, their execution wasn't perfect. One second, Heisenberg had just kicked Doomsday flying; the next, Clark used his heat vision to clear a path, rushed up to Doomsday, and landed two heavy punches. But then he was immediately grabbed by Doomsday and hurled straight toward Heisenberg.
Heisenberg sidestepped lightly and casually grabbed Clark by the cape, hoisting him up. "You don't need to get involved!"
As he spoke, Heisenberg swung Clark by the cape and, at the same time, gave a fierce tug on the chain binding Doomsday, yanking the monster right back. Superman still had no idea what Heisenberg was about to do, and the next moment, he was swung out in a complete daze!
The astonished Superman watched as his own head collided with Doomsday's huge face; he instinctively shielded his face, and his body sent Doomsday flying! He had been used as a makeshift weapon by Heisenberg!
After using Clark to knock Doomsday away, Heisenberg casually tossed Clark aside. Clark hurriedly adjusted his posture in mid-air and hovered awkwardly next to Heisenberg.
Seeing Heisenberg was about to continue attacking Doomsday, Clark rushed in front of him and blocked his move. Nearby, Diana met Doomsday head-on, preparing to take over the battle as planned.
Seizing the opportunity, Clark quickly said to Heisenberg, "Great… uh, may I know your name?" Clark asked helplessly.
He was a bit embarrassed to call Heisenberg "great-grandfather," but it was only emotional shyness, not doubt about Heisenberg's identity. After all, Heisenberg's identity was crystal clear! It wasn't just a matter of locking eyes; Clark had even confirmed it with DNA!
Looking at Clark's embarrassed expression, and then at the extremely active Wonder Woman in the sky to the right, Heisenberg smiled understandingly and asked, "You want to take over the fight?"
"It's not that we want to interfere; there's a reason we have to. Batman will soon bring a spear forged from Kryptonite back to the battlefield. That weapon can kill Doomsday!"
As he said this, Superman suddenly turned sideways and delivered a fierce kick to the incoming Doomsday. Heisenberg smoothly followed up Clark's move and casually hurled Gungnir!
Gungnir whistled through the air, instantly piercing Doomsday's chest and pinning him toward Diana in the opposite sky. Diana then swept past Doomsday, swinging her God-Killer sword and severing his right arm in one slash!
Taking advantage of this moment, Clark continued explaining to Heisenberg. "Kryptonite causes extreme harm to us Kryptonians, temporarily stripping us of our powers. If you're still fighting Doomsday when the spear arrives, the sudden loss of strength could injure you! That woman won't have that problem, so we want her to gradually take over the battlefield and deliver the final blow to Doomsday!"
Listening to Clark's explanation, Heisenberg nodded in understanding and smiled with some gratification. "Not bad, you do have me in your heart after all. But are you really unwilling to call me great-grandfather? Or you can just call me grandpa, child!"
As he spoke, Diana suddenly ran into trouble in the distance. It turned out that after taking over the battle, she had immediately tried the same move Heisenberg used. But she found she couldn't do it, because her strength was far too inferior to Doomsday's. Instead of controlling Doomsday with the Lasso of Truth, she was yanked right toward him!
Meanwhile, Doomsday's right arm, which Diana had just severed, not only regenerated but even sprouted sharp bone spikes! And as Diana was pulled toward Doomsday, those sharp bone spikes were aimed straight at her chest.
Staring at the bone spike closing in, Diana braced the Aegis shield before her chest, her eyes wide, teeth clenched. BOOM!!! The shield and Doomsday's fist collided violently! The Aegis shield unquestionably blocked the spike, but Diana completely lost her center of gravity and shot across the sky like a meteor, crashing into the distant ground.
Heisenberg glanced over with interest, then turned back to Superman with a meaningful smile. He patted Clark on the shoulder and said softly, "You thought it out well, but you're dreaming a little too nicely. If she plans to take over this fight, her current strength is far from enough!"
With that, Heisenberg shot forward, punching the Doomsday that was chasing after Diana square in the side and sending him flying! Superman followed right behind Heisenberg, and as Doomsday was knocked away, he accelerated and added another punch of his own.
Heisenberg overtook Clark, accelerated to catch up with the tumbling Doomsday, and drove a vicious knee strike into him, launching him into the sky. Clark intercepted and slammed Doomsday toward Heisenberg with his shoulder. For a moment, Doomsday was toyed with like a ball by the two of them.
As Superman kept knocking Doomsday away, he looked at Heisenberg doing the same in the distance and suddenly couldn't help but have a strange thought. This scene of him and Heisenberg playing with Doomsday—wasn't it just like playing soccer with his adoptive father when he was little?
At that moment, Heisenberg had a similar thought. As he was about to kick Doomsday toward Clark again, he actually felt like he was kicking a ball?! A strange feeling welled up, and Heisenberg suddenly laughed. He waved excitedly at Clark. "Brat, catch this ball!!!"
BOOM!!! The enraged Doomsday flew toward Clark after being kicked, and after a brief pause, Clark broke into a brilliant smile. "Watch this!" he shouted, kicking Doomsday back to Heisenberg.
This cheerful interaction left even Diana, who had just gotten up in the distance, dumbfounded. Watching the helpless Doomsday and the increasingly elated Heisenberg and Clark, Diana smiled softly. Kryptonians really were an enviable race!
Meanwhile, Bruce, who had parked his motorcycle at the edge of the battlefield, was running toward the fight with the spear in hand. But he hadn't taken more than a couple of steps when he heard the roaring shouts of Heisenberg and Clark. Watching the two in the sky seemingly having the time of their lives, Bruce froze for a moment, then looked down at the Kryptonite spear in his hand in bewilderment. After a long pause, he swallowed hard.
"What use do I have for this spear?!"
