Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: A Sweet Angel

(in training grounds, Town Hall)

BAIZHI- (tries to shatter the wood log into particles)

(the log breaks into chunks instead)

Dang it... How am I gonna do it...

The vibrations from the Echo Pulse should be disintegrating the structure of the wood, making it shatter into dust as Kyo did.

I don't know what's wrong with me... am I losing focus?

BAIZHI- There must be another way...

???????- Oh, really?

BAIZHI- Uh. (looks behind)

Oh, c'mon, really? At this time?

TSUKAMI- Hey there, incel. [NAME: TSUKAMI, SP UNDER JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, MASTERY 1 IN SOUL MOTION]

BAIZHI- I don't feel like arguing with you right now.

TSUKAMI- Oh. Too busy hating women, I think?

BAIZHI- No.

TSUKAMI- Don't lie to me, you incel ass. All you can do is whine about how you can't pull girls with that depressing personality of yours.

BAIZHI- (clenches his fists)

I swear... I'm gonna-

TSUKAMI- What? Got pissed? Too hard to accept your shit personality?

BAIZHI- Enough. Just because you're younger than me doesn't mean you will yap anything random about me.

TSUKAMI- You don't control my speech, incel. And don't even try to throw hands on me with those 2 Resonic Skills, you don't even know how to use them.

BAIZHI- I don't need them to leave a mark on your fat face.

TSUKAMI- You're messing with the wrong person, corny incel.

BAIZHI- You-

(both were stopped by someone)

BAIZHI- Uh.

TSUKAMI- Huh?

RAMOS- Everything good? (^^)

BAIZHI- Ramos...

TSUKAMI- Dang it.

RAMOS- Perhaps, maybe choose to stay and behave as a team when serving under same department.

TSUKAMI- Team? With him? Over my dead ass.

BAIZHI- Same, can't bother working with this fat fuck.

TSUKAMI- Look at yourself, incel. You can literally get snapped in half with that skinny ahh figure of yours.

BAIZHI- I don't need to be a cannonball like you-

RAMOS- Silence.

(...)

BAIZHI- (looks down) Hmm.

TSUKAMI- (crosses his hands, looks sideways) Pfft, whatever.

RAMOS- Let the past be past. If someone wants to become better, we should encourage them instead.

TSUKAMI- I have 0 expectations from this corny ass.

BAIZHI- I don't remember asking for a sprinkle of your opinions over my ass.

TSUKAMI- Jeez, you're so incel blud.

RAMOS- Silence. Before I suspend both of you.

(both nods)

(A lady walks towards them in a yellow dress, with the help of a walking stick)

BAIZHI- Uh.

?????- Hello everyone!!

RAMOS- Hi Emily.

TSUKAMI- Hey Emily!!! How are you doing?

EMILY- I'm doing great! Just a little pain, but I'm doing alright :D [NAME: EMILY, A WELL-KNOWN PERSON IN REMISS CITY]

RAMOS- Hmm, I hope they find a solution to the problem you're suffering from.

EMILY- I hope so! (looks at Baizhi) Hello there!

BAIZHI- Oh, um, hi.

EMILY- I see a new face today. May I know your name?

BAIZHI- Oh, I'm Baizhi. SP under the Justice Department.

EMILY- Nice to meet you :)

BAIZHI- Me too.

TSUKAMI- Uh, I think you should keep a distance from him.

God, I wanna choke him to death-

EMILY- Oh? Why so?

TSUKAMI- Pfft, he hates women, and he believes in misogyny. Won't recommend talking with a loser like him.

BAIZHI- (clenches his fist tighter, tries to control his anger)

EMILY- (looks back at Baizhi) Hmm.

BAIZHI- Uh.

EMILY- (smiles) He looks like a kind person to me (^^).

BAIZHI- Oh.

TSUKAMI- Bruh, really? Him? And nice? Pfft, my ass-

RAMOS- Hmm?

TSUKAMI- Bruh, I'll just leave for now. Can't bother roaming around with an incel. (walks away)

BAIZHI- I swear one day I will...

RAMOS- Calm down, Baizhi. You don't want to prove them right by lifting a hand to him.

BAIZHI- Right.

EMILY- Is something wrong?

RAMOS- He's basically new, so he has a pretty weak image as a beginner here.

EMILY- I see. It's okay! I can help him if he ever gets stuck somewhere!!

BAIZHI- Thank you.

EMILY- No worries :) I should check on other people too, I'll catch you both some other day!!

RAMOS- Alright.

(she walks away)

BAIZHI- Whoa... she was so nice to talk to, and she didn't even judge me...

RAMOS- That's a good part about her. Emily has faced a rough childhood since the beginning.

BAIZHI- Oh.

RAMOS- Because of that, Emily wants to make sure that she can help everyone who's facing any kind of distress. Kinda like you.

BAIZHI- I see...

RAMOS- That's the best part about being kind, Baizhi. When you give other people a smile, you get a smile yourself, too.

BAIZHI- I hope she gets well soon with her problems as well.

RAMOS- Right.

.

(at the library)

Hmm, interesting.

I think I need to grasp more theoretical knowledge of how physics works.

Resonic Skills works by manipulating the environment around. Hmm, maybe this could help me get the other 7 Resonic Skills as well.

To impress the other 7 warriors with their skills, there must be a way to do something with the environment.

Or wait, what if there's a book specifically about warriors? If I have to impress them, I need to know more about them.

(stood up)

Time to find it.

(goes through the history section of the library)

Hmm... which one could it be...

Oh?

' The 9 Paths of Peace, Glory and Harmony '

Even the cover page has depictions of the warriors. This will be a good choice-

(the moment he holds the book, another hand comes for the same book as well)

BAIZHI- Uh- (looks at the other person)

EMILY- Oh hi-

BAIZHI- Oh, hey, I think we met this morning in the training grounds-

EMILY- Yeah! A pretty interesting coincidence that we ended up choosing the same book xD

BAIZHI- Yeah. But hey, you can have it if you want.

EMILY- Oh no, no, it's alright if you want it.

BAIZHI- No, no- it's alright- I can read it some other day.

EMILY- Ah. Well, in that case, we can read together.

BAIZHI- Oh. Really?

EMILY- Yeah, I mean, I came here alone anyway. Do you have any issues?

BAIZHI- Eh- No- Why would I have any issue- I mean...

EMILY- Hmm?

BAIZHI- I don't know if I'm really a good person to be sitting with other people...

EMILY- Oh, it's alright! You just need time, and you will get rid of that fear :D

BAIZHI- I hope so.

EMILY- Good, now come. Let's read it together!

BAIZHI- Alright.
