No way... how could he be gay?
Su Modie had once joked that since Reze, as the Bomb Devil, was born from humanity's concept of fear towards Bombs, and in this Marvel World, the two biggest arms dealers who manufactured the most Bombs and weapons were Tony Stark and Justin Hammer.
Su Modie had joked back then that in this World, Reze was, for all intents and purposes, the cheap daughter born from the joint efforts of these two bitter rivals.
Turns out, not only did that guy Tony seem to really think so, but this Justin Hammer... damn it, he actually likes men?!
No, this unofficial history is not only getting wilder, but how is it also getting so damn true?!
Su Modie's mind suddenly flashed to the "Ex-Wife" micro-missile that Hammer was so proud of.
Could it be that this "Ex-Wife" missile, which was all show and no substance, only popping once before fizzling out, was actually implying Tony Stark?!
No, no... that's a terrifying thought!
Su Modie was left stunned by her own wild imagination, while in the Seagate Prison visiting room, Makima remained as calm and composed as ever.
Facing Hammer's eyesore of an action, Makima didn't even furrow her brow.
She clasped her fingers together, resting them under her smooth chin, and introduced herself in a cold, clear voice:
"Nice to meet you, Hammer. I am an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., you can call me Makima. I'm here to make a deal with you."
"S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
Hammer stopped rubbing his companion's leg, pushed up his black-rimmed glasses, and leaned back in his chair with an arrogant attitude. "Oh, I know you guys. A bunch of perverts who like to hide in the shadows and conduct surveillance. Speak up, what do you want with a prisoner like me?"
Makima didn't show any emotional fluctuation due to his prickly words and just threw out her bargaining chip straight to the point: "I hope you can join my team. In return, we will use special channels to help you regain your freedom, and I will use S.H.I.E.L.D.'s resources to help your business make a comeback."
Upon hearing this, a glimmer of greed finally lit up in Hammer's previously listless eyes.
He nodded with satisfaction and was about to start bargaining.
However, Makima's next words directly extinguished his enthusiasm: "But the cost is that from now on, you must unconditionally obey my commands and dispatch. You can no longer appear in public with your real face, and more importantly—"
Makima paused.
"There will no longer be a name like Hammer Industries in this World. To avoid prying eyes, we will re-register a company for you under a different name."
As soon as these words were spoken, Hammer's expression darkened instantly.
"What do you mean?"
He slammed the iron table, which even startled the delicate male companion beside him.
"Why can't it be called Hammer Industries?! It's such a great name! This is my life's work!"
He pointed at his own nose and roared, spittle flying: "And I used to be a World-renowned top arms dealer! Do you understand what it means to have a reputation?! Does your S.H.I.E.L.D. understand the rules of our business?! Without the gold-plated brand of Hammer, who would buy into your stuff?!"
Hearing this, Makima's swirl-patterned eyes narrowed slightly.
World-renowned? More like infamous!
Far away in New York, Su Modie rolled her eyes silently, venting frantically in her heart.
Although she found it funny, Makima did not get angry. She just put away the last trace of gentleness, and her words became cold:
"This is a mandatory condition. Even S.H.I.E.L.D. cannot openly release a serious criminal who caused a terrorist attack at the expo without reason. The bottom line we can offer you is to ensure that you enjoy a certain degree of decision-making power and R&D funding within the new industrial group."
"Certain degree? I want it all!"
Hammer acted as if he had heard a huge joke, stood up abruptly, pressed his hands on the table, and stared intensely at Makima. "And I have only one requirement for leaving this place—arrange a global live-streamed comeback press conference for me immediately!"
The more he spoke, the more excited he became, his eyes full of madness and resentment: "I heard that arrogant idiot Stark has been showing off in New York again lately? Claiming he fought some aliens? It's absolutely ridiculous! This must be bullshit fake news! It's utter absurdity!"
He beat his chest vigorously: "Believe me, Agent Makima! Just give me a year... no, half a year! My Hammer Industries will completely surpass Stark Industries! I will personally expose the hypocritical lies of that fraud!"
Looking at the man caught in inexplicable jealousy before her, Makima just watched his performance quietly, then shook her head, her tone without the slightest ripple:
"That is impossible."
"Fine, so there's nothing to talk about, right?"
Hammer snorted coldly, his attitude turning nasty. He seemed to think his talent in the military industry was irreplaceable and was convinced that the beautiful government female Agent before him must be begging for his help, which was why she dared to be so demanding.
It's just that he seemed to have misunderstood many things...
"Let's go, dear. It seems we didn't wait for a savior today."
Hammer arrogantly adjusted the collar of his prison uniform, reached out to put his arm around the waist of the delicate male fellow prisoner, and turned to leave the visiting room to return to his cell.
Watching his back, Makima sighed imperceptibly.
"Hammer, you seem to have... misunderstood something."
Her voice was not loud, but it carried a chilling coldness, "I am not discussing this with you right now."
"I am just notifying you, hoping you would be prepared, but now it seems..."
"I was just being a bit delusional..."
Hammer paused, stopped in his tracks, and turned his head back in confusion.
He didn't understand what this woman meant.
Makima stood up, turned towards the door, and stopped in front of the bodyguard. Her red lips parted slightly, uttering a sentence that left Hammer baffled: "It seems that our new friend here still hasn't figured out his current situation."
Without looking back, Makima instructed the burly man behind her, "Bronski, help your future friend recognize reality."
Hammer was dumbfounded upon hearing this.
What friend? What recognizing reality?
Before he could react, Makima had already pushed open the iron door and walked out elegantly.
Accompanied by a loud "clang," the iron door was locked from the outside, and Bronski turned around, blocking the doorway like a wall of flesh.
He twisted his thick neck, making his bones crack, while rubbing his hands together, a cruel and excited smile on his face.
Hammer's face turned pale instantly.
Now he understood what it meant...
