Chapter 166 - Chapter 166: The Bandit in a Suit

the lives of others, the debut feature film written and directed by young director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, took several years to make and has a strong sense of political suspense.

The excellent performances by Ulrich Mühe, Sebastian Koch, and other talented German filmmakers led Charles to directly purchase the North American and UK distribution rights for the film for 4.5 million dollars after watching it.

You know, the lives of others only cost 2 million dollars to produce!

"Fili, make a note: the establishment of offices in Germany, France, Italy, and Spain needs to be expedited. We need to strengthen our cooperative relationships with continental Europe," Charles instructed in his suite at the Adlon Kempinski Hotel.

Fili nodded, "Philip is also in charge of international distribution. Should we send Philip to set up our European offices?"

Charles nodded, "Someone else can take over North American distribution. For the European distribution office, have Tunan assist him. From now on, London will be the European headquarters of Capet International Pictures!"

Europe was already Hollywood's backyard, and Charles had to ensure they got a share of the meat and soup in that backyard, not just watch other companies feast.

"Also, LVMH Group in Paris sent an invitation for the boss to attend Delphine Arnault's wedding!"

Charles nodded. Delphine Arnault was 30 this year, and it was indeed time for her to marry.

"Who is her husband?" Charles asked.

"Valerino Gancia, heir to an Italian industrial and winery family," Phyllis Jones quickly replied.

"Alright, a powerful alliance," Charles smiled.

After handling the distribution rights for the lives of others in Berlin, Charles flew directly to Paris, France.

Charles had hoped to meet Marion Cotillard, but she had already gone to Los Angeles, USA.

However, Charles also knew a dark-themed beauty in France, Eva Green, who could serve as his companion.

In a suite at the Four Seasons Hotel George V on Avenue George V in Paris, Charles opened the door, and the sexy and charming Eva Green walked in.

"When did you arrive in Paris?" Eva Green asked as she took off her coat.

Charles, dressed in pajamas, hugged the Lady, kissed her, and said with a smile, "The daughter of LVMH Group is getting married; I'm here for the wedding celebration!"

"Delphine Arnault and Valerino Gancia's wedding?" Eva Green nodded, after all, Charles Capet was one of LVMH's shareholders.

"Come to Bordeaux as my companion, I'm also alone," Charles shrugged, not overly concerned.

Eva Green nodded. This wedding was a wedding of the century, and many of the attendees were wealthy and influential!

Going with Charles would also allow her to meet some high-ranking French individuals.

"By the way, do you have any new film plans recently?" Charles asked casually.

"Oh, yes, I've received an invitation to be a Bond Girl in Casino Royale. I'll be going to the UK for an audition," Eva Green was somewhat shocked that Charles had been right; the new 007 really would cast her as a Bond Girl.

"Oh, you've received it," Charles nodded and suggested, "Take it. The new 007 is a bit different from the old ones!"

Eva Green also nodded, "I've read the script for the role. This Bond Girl has depth and substance; she's not just about simple sex appeal."

Eva Green also turned down a role in the Hollywood film the black dahlia, preparing to focus solely on Casino Royale.

Charles approached the Lady, put his arm around Eva Green's waist, and whispered, "You'll probably be moving to Hollywood for long-term development soon, won't you?"

"That's right, I'll be based in Hollywood for long-term development, but if there's a suitable role for me in Europe, I'd be very willing to come back," Eva Green said and then initiated a kiss with Charles.

The wedding of Delphine Arnault and Valerino Gancia was held at the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church, which has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO;

Located in the Bordeaux region of southwestern France, Charles and Eva Green flew directly from Paris to Bordeaux to attend the wedding. Afterwards, the newlyweds held their wedding dinner at Château d'Yquem, a famous winery in the Bordeaux region;

Many French political and business magnates and celebrities attended the wedding dinner.

"Congratulations, happy wedding!" Charles raised his wine glass and toasted the newlyweds.

Delphine Arnault, arm in arm with her new husband Valerino Gancia, smiled and nodded, then looked at Eva Green and said, "This is another rising star from France. It seems she won't escape your grasp!"

"No, no, no," Charles shook his head, "This is a passionate collision between French culture and Hollywood."

"Alright, have fun!" Delphine Arnault was quite busy, and the newlyweds then walked away.

The wife of President Chirac, Interior Minister Sarkozy and his wife, as well as many European royals... Charles truly realized how deep the Arnault family's network was in France!

Charles stared at Bernard Arnault from a distance for a few more moments. A bandit in a suit, he was indeed no ordinary person.

"Eva, if you have any spare funds in the future, you can buy some LVMH shares and hold them long-term. It will be beneficial to you," Charles suddenly suggested to the Lady beside him.

"LVMH Group shares?" Eva Green thought for a moment, then nodded, "Okay, I'll buy some LVMH shares when I have spare funds!"

"With so many wineries near Bordeaux, it seems it would be easy for me to buy one," Charles now realized that France also had many good things.

"Charles, do you want to invest in the wine business?"

"I have that idea. Buying a winery could also serve as a vacation estate when I come to France!"

"LVMH Group has business in that area; you could seek their advice," Eva Green suggested.

"Heh heh," Charles shook his head. For wine, Charles only had a casual thought; how could he have time to research how to manage a winery?

"Alright, let's go back first!" Charles didn't have much time to waste here.

Eva Green nodded, then followed Charles into a car and left Château d'Yquem.

"Rest for one night, then back to Paris tomorrow!" Charles said, stroking the Lady's thigh in the car.

"Mm, whatever you say!" Eva Green had no objections; resting in Bordeaux was fine.

However, Charles, beside her, was a bit annoyed, feeling that he needed a private jet. Unfortunately, he hadn't even bought a private yacht yet.
