"Let's go over there and have a drink?" Jessica Alba suggested.
"Of course," Charles nodded.
The two came to the lounge area of the banquet hall, ordered two drinks, and chatted while drinking.
"sin city," a higher-budget film produced by Dimension Films, was boosted by directors like Quentin Tarantino. This black-and-white comic-style adaptation earned $74 million in the North American market and a total global box office of $160 million on a $40 million budget.
Jessica Alba only made a cameo as a small dancer in the film, but her sexy figure added a lot to her appeal.
"fantastic four," with a production budget of $100 million, was released last month, and its North American box office is now approaching $150 million. It is 20th Century Fox's most successful superhero film since the comic adaptation "x-men."
The role of Invisible Woman that Jessica Alba got is also considered her most successful role in her many years of acting.
"'fantastic four' was shot well. Whether it's the casting or the plot organization, it's much better than the previous film 'Daredevil,'" Charles said. Charles had always been bothered by the Mutant series and the fantastic four series owned by 20th Century Fox. Fortunately, Charles knew that "fantastic four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer" would close the door on this series again.
Jessica Alba smiled, "Marvel Comics is now also a subsidiary of Cape Entertainment. The higher the box office of 'fantastic four,' the more credit Marvel Comics gets!"
Marvel Studios gets credit? Charles scoffed. Neither Sony nor 20th Century Fox, or even Lionsgate Films, cared about any Marvel Company consultant producers.
"The 'fantastic four' series has always been a very popular series in Marvel Comics, and it has a wide audience. It's normal for the movie to be successful," Charles said, taking a sip of the red wine in his hand. It seemed that Chris Evans was playing the role of Human Torch in the current "fantastic four."
This guy is captain america in Charles's future marvel universe. Interesting!
"I heard that your acquisition of Marvel Company was a bit convoluted, Charles?" Jessica Alba, as an actress, could only be a pretty face, but she had a heart that wanted to do business.
Charles looked at Jessica Alba, leaned closer, and suggested, "How about we find a quiet place, and I'll tell you slowly just how convoluted it was?"
Jessica Alba nodded, and soon she and Charles arrived at a high-floor suite in the Peninsula Hotel.
A man and a woman alone in a room, it was destined to be an unquiet night.
In the morning, on the bed in the bedroom, Charles woke up embracing the sexy Jessica Alba. Her sexy and charming face and alluring figure made him feel something!
"You're awake?" Jessica Alba, opening her eyes, found that Charles had woken up even earlier.
Charles smiled, kissed the Lady's lips, and then rolled over her.
About an hour later, the two, exhausted, embraced and chatted.
"Your principle of not showing skin in movies is quite good," Charles said. For example, in "sin city," almost all female characters had nude scenes, but the dancer played by Jessica Alba refused to be nude.
"I'm somewhat conservative inside and resist nudity. I can be sexy in movies, but I won't show skin, even if I don't participate in this project," Jessica Alba said. Although she basically played sexy vase roles in movies, she always stuck to her bottom line.
"Perhaps I'm worried that my children will see these in the future," Jessica Alba rested her head on Charles's chest.
"What I said last night about wanting to learn how to do business is also true. I have a great interest in running a company."
Charles remembered that a company Jessica Alba was involved in founding in the future had even gone public!
He turned to look at Jessica Alba. Could it be that Jessica Alba was a clear-headed person?
"Doing business, what industry are you planning to go into? Or is it still film and entertainment?" Charles didn't care if she was clear-headed or not, but he was interested in doing business with a beautiful woman.
Jessica Alba shook her head, "Film is definitely not an option. I'm already like this myself. I want to do something in trade."
"But what industry exactly, I haven't thought about it yet."
"If you haven't thought about it, take your time," Charles said, getting out of bed and preparing to go to the bathroom to shower. "Anyway, you're still very young. If you need investment then, you can come to me."
Jessica Alba smiled, "Okay, you're a big rich man in America now. I'll come to you for investment in my company then."
"No problem," Charles said, directly picking up Jessica Alba, and laughed, "But let's take a bath together first!"
"Charles, I'm going to Europe with the crew tomorrow to promote 'fantastic four,'" Jessica Alba seemed a little reluctant to part with Charles.
Lying in the bathtub, Charles felt the Lady's body and his mind began to wander again, but being somewhat tired, Charles didn't make any moves.
He replied, "Don't worry, I'll find you after you come back from Europe!"
And so, Charles spent a pleasant weekend in the company of Jessica Alba.
"little miss sunshine," released by Capet Pictures, relied on its solid reputation. Half a month after its release, the number of theaters increased to 700, and the North American box office reached $12 million.
"mr. & mrs. smith," after more than two months in theaters, had a North American box office of $186 million, and the overseas market was approaching the $300 million mark.
"What's going on? We only got $7.5 million from the North American box office of $186 million!" Charles was surprised at first, then looked closely.
After deducting the cinema's share of 53%, and Universal's 10% commission, the North American box office revenue for "mr. & mrs. smith" was $80 million.
Universal spent $65 million on promotion and distribution, which needed to be deducted first, leaving only $15 million in profit.
The copyright and profits were split half and half, with Capet Pictures getting $7.5 million. No problem!
"Boss, there's also the overseas market, and the DVD version will be released in two months. That's when we'll make money," Phyllis Jones comforted.
"I know, I'm just sighing," Charles estimated that even with a $300 million box office overseas, with "mr. & mrs. smith's" $110 million production cost, the box office revenue would probably only be enough to break even.
To make money, they still had to rely on the DVD market and TV broadcasts, these downstream industries. A movie that could break even on box office alone was definitely a big moneymaker.
No wonder the shrinking DVD market caused the Hollywood industry to slump. It truly was a major source of revenue!
