Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: Greenwich

Capet Pictures' "brokeback mountain" departed for Italy to participate in the 61st Venice Film Festival, but Charles was truly too lazy to go.

Director Ang Lee, lead actors Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michelle Williams were already enough, along with the publicity staff from Focus Features.

In Lower Manhattan, a two-story office building on Greenwich Street, south of Canal Street, was purchased by Charles' Capet Pictures to serve as Capet Pictures' New York office.

Charles specifically came to see it, accompanied by his beautiful assistants, Donna Williams and Phyllis Jones.

"It's alright. After a simple renovation, we can start working. This place was previously rented by an investment brokerage firm," Donna said after looking around, thinking it was quite good!

"Find someone to renovate it. We should try to have it ready for use by November," Charles had hired many people this year, and the manpower needed to build a distribution channel was still considerable.

New York, as the entertainment center of the East Coast, has undeniable importance. People also need to be sent to Washington D.C., Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle, and other regions, or temporarily hired when distributing films.

"Let's go back," Charles said after a while, preparing to return to his villa by the Hudson River, which wasn't too far.

In the evening, Charles was in his study, looking through the film and television project materials Phyllis had brought, searching for scripts with investment potential.

"Boss, here's your coffee!" Phyllis Jones, holding a cup of coffee, knocked on the door from outside.

"Come in!"

Phyllis Jones casually tugged at her low-cut knit top, making herself appear more sensual and alluring, before pushing the door open and entering.

Charles was looking down at the documents in his hand and, without lifting his head, pointed to the right side of the table, "Put it there!"

"Oh," Phyllis Jones walked over and placed the coffee on the table, hoping to stay a little longer, but also worried about being criticized, feeling a bit conflicted.

"Phyllis, how is Paul Scheuring's preparation for 'prison break' coming along?" Charles asked.

"He's in discussions with Fox, hoping to produce a pilot episode first to see how it goes!"

Charles frowned and said, "Tell Paul Scheuring to start forming the crew. Capet Television will invest 2 million USD to develop the pilot episode, and then we'll find several TV stations to bid for the first-run broadcasting rights."

"Okay, actually, Mr. Scheuring has also been looking for suitable actors, but there's still no clue about the two lead brothers," Phyllis reminded him.

"The male lead!" Charles put down the documents in his hand and looked up, just in time to see Phyllis Jones standing to his right.

Admiring her graceful curves for a moment, Charles smiled and teased, "Phyllis, your figure is no less than those Hollywood stars!"

"Ah, thank you, Boss!" Phyllis smiled radiantly.

Phyllis Jones now often followed Charles, and she had no resistance to the young, handsome, and wealthy tycoon, wanting to get closer to him.

Phyllis actively walked behind Charles and began to massage his shoulders. Charles then stood up directly and led the Lady to the sofa.

He lay down completely, resting his head in Phyllis's arms, letting the Lady massage his head. While smelling the fragrance on the Lady, he said, "Do you know about the literary drama 'The Human Stain' that was released last year?"

"Hmm, I've seen it. It's a film starring Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins!"

"That's right. The actor who played the younger version of Anthony Hopkins' character, Wentworth Miller, is quite good. You can have Paul approach him to audition for the male lead," Charles pondered, thinking it would save Paul Scheuring a lot of time searching for the lead.

"Wentworth Miller! Okay, I'll inform the company staff responsible for this TV series!"

Phyllis Jones replied while her slender fingers gently massaged Charles's head.

Charles lay for a while, then stood up and walked to the desk, picking up the project he had just been looking at, which was a general outline and plan for a script.

"This 'little miss sunshine' project, a family road trip comedy film, tell me more about it!" Charles remembered that this film had a low budget, but its box office seemed to be good.

Phyllis Jones took the file, looked at it, and then began to explain, "This is a project submitted by independent producer Marc Turtletaub. The 'little miss sunshine' script was written around 2000, but because the plot was too bland, many film companies didn't develop it."

"Mr. Marc Turtletaub also bought the script at a low price after Focus Features completely gave up on it, hoping to adapt it into a film!"

Charles smiled and said, "Okay, Marc Turtletaub only needs an 8 million USD budget. Although only Alan Arkin among the actors has some recognition, the others are not well-known."

"However, a heartwarming family comedy can still attract many family audiences to the cinema. Give Marc Turtletaub the green light directly. He has already found the director and actors, so the crew will be assembled very quickly!"

"Have Philip arrange the schedule; it should be released next year."

Phyllis Jones nodded, but still couldn't help but ask, "Does this movie really have a chance of success? The story is as bland as water, just trivial stories that happen on a family's journey to help their little daughter participate in the 'little miss sunshine' beauty pageant."

"There are no stars, and no major selling points!"

Charles looked at Phyllis, shrugged, and said, "Society is very flashy now; sometimes, a film about such family matters can be a seasoning."

"Arrange for the company to invest in its development!"

Phyllis Jones nodded, then walked back to Charles's side, "Boss, aren't you going to rest yet?"

Charles smiled, put his arm around the Lady's waist, her cleavage fully visible, and whispered into the Lady's ear, "Yours is a D cup, right!"

"36D!"

"Alright, you go rest first. I still have to finish these," Charles said, giving the Lady's 36D a squeeze.

After Phyllis Jones left, Charles sat back in his chair, picked up his coffee, and drank it. Capet Pictures was building its distribution channels, and next year's films couldn't just be one or two.

"little miss sunshine" is good; a movie that can make money is a good movie. There's also "walk the line," plus the sequel IP "saw iii."

This way, Capet Pictures can at least release three films next year.
