Charles arrived at the Chateau Marmont Hotel's poolside, where many beautifully dressed Young Ladies formed a unique scenic line around the pool.
"Charles," the newly crowned oscar best actress winner, Charlize Theron, approached Charles from behind.
"Oh, it's you, Charlize!" Charles turned and hugged her, "You're truly beautiful!"
Charlize Theron, in a black backless dress, showcased her perfect figure, which had returned to normal. Coupled with her already exquisite features, the South Africa diamond was indeed not just an empty boast.
"Thanks, I've been spending the past few months training and working on my physique. aeon flux is officially starting production in August, and the role requires me to present myself in the most perfect condition!" Charlize Theron explained.
Charles nodded and sat down with Charlize Theron on a nearby beach chair, ordering two drinks.
"It seems you've worked very hard. Your dedication to transforming your body for the movie is admirable," Charles said with a smile.
Halle Berry's Catwoman opened in over 3,100 theaters in North America last weekend, but its opening weekend box office was only 16 million US dollars, with terrible reviews.
Warner Bros. probably regretted it; a DC superhero adaptation with a production budget of 100 million US dollars ended up with such a result.
"Charles, you know, I'm different. If I don't work twice as hard, I wouldn't even have a chance to enter the acting industry!" Charlize Theron's mother shot her drunken, abusive father when she was a teenager, and she moved from South Africa to live in the United States.
She studied ballet from a young age but had to give it up due to a knee injury. After signing with an agency as a model, her beautiful looks and tall figure gave her the opportunity to enter the film industry.
"But isn't everything fine now? You are now an academy award for best actress, isn't that the highest honor for an actress?" Charles reminded her. The prettier the star, the more she had to uglify herself to prove her worth.
Charlize Theron nodded, seemingly lost in thought, "After entering the film industry, the roles I got were basically all about showing off my sexuality; directors didn't need me to show anything else."
"My opportunities were also roles that other actresses didn't want. It seems no female star was willing to star in monster; aeon flux was also a role that Natalie Portman refused to play, and it ended up with me."
"In Hollywood, opportunity is too important!"
Charles, of course, agreed with Charlize's point of view, but for many people, opportunities are rare and hard to come by.
Suddenly, a burst of laughter came from the pool area. Charles looked over to see Leonardo DiCaprio and his good friend Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire, playing poker with a few sexy Young Ladies.
"Do Hollywood big stars all like to play like this?"
Charles looked at the opposite side, asking softly with a faint smile.
Charlize Theron, however, had a very normal expression and began to explain, "Charles, don't you often attend Hollywood parties? You should have seen a lot of these, right?"
Charles smiled, then watched Tobey Maguire throw a few banknotes at the feet of a sexy Lady, saying something.
The Lady hesitated for a moment but still picked up the money from the ground; she looked like a waitress.
After Charles and Charlize chatted for a while, they prepared to go home.
Arriving at the parking lot, Charles asked, "Do you want a ride home? I don't see your assistant or driver?"
Charlize Theron smiled, "I gave them a few days off. My mother is visiting Los Angeles from New York for a few days, and she'll pick me up. She's shopping nearby!"
Charles nodded. Shouldn't he be taking her home, then she'd invite him in for coffee, and finally, it would be a pleasant night?
Charlize Theron hugged Charles and then kissed him, "It was nice chatting with you!"
Charles, in turn, directly embraced Charlize Theron and kissed her on the mouth. After a moment of surprise, the Lady also responded.
After they separated, Charles touched his lips, still feeling a bit unsatisfied, "That felt good! I'm leaving."
Charlize Theron also smiled and nodded, then saw Charles get into a cayenne and start the car, just as her mother arrived.
After Charlize Theron sat in the passenger seat of her mother's car, her mother beside her asked with a smile, "Who was that young man just now? You two were kissing so passionately and obliviously, I didn't even disturb you."
"A very capable young man, the boss of a new film company in Hollywood!" Charlize replied.
Charlize's mother nodded, didn't ask further, started the car, and left. Charles drove straight down Sunset Boulevard south of the Chateau Marmont Hotel, while Charlize and her mother took Hollywood Boulevard north of the hotel to Queen's Road to go home.
As Charles drove the cayenne west onto Sunset Boulevard, not far from the intersection ahead, a man and a woman were pulling at each other.
"Molly, what do you want to do? Go back to the bar right now and arrange tonight's poker game, Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio's game. You might get over 1000 US dollars in tips!" A bearded man was instructing a sexy woman.
"Boss, they are too disrespectful. They even want people to bark like dogs? Throwing money in my face is one thing, but that Tobey Maguire is like a pervert!" The sexy woman was a waitress at the bearded man's bar, and she looked distraught.
"But he knows a lot of people and can bring in many Hollywood stars to join the poker game. So, you have to endure it, otherwise, you can get out!" The bearded man said sternly. High-stakes poker games, collecting entrance fees, were his main income. The more people who entered, the more entrance fees!
The sexy woman finally nodded, resigned to accepting tonight's arrangement, and the bearded man then left, satisfied.
The sexy woman was Molly Bloom, originally a skier who retired due to injury and worked as a waitress in a Hollywood bar. She even got into Harvard University.
However, ever since she got involved with the bar owner's job of arranging poker games specifically for VIPS, she dropped out of college and helped out directly.
She did earn a lot; she could genuinely receive 1000 US dollars in tips in one night, but she had to endure many guests' strange behaviors.
Molly Bloom had just started her Toyota and was about to enter Sunset Boulevard when a cayenne drove past on the main road.
Charles had only drunk two or three glasses of champagne that evening, so he could certainly drive. And ever since he had drunk and driven, causing his own death...
Charles was much more careful; he wouldn't drink any alcohol when driving himself. He glanced at the white Toyota preparing to merge onto the road and then drove past it.
Dare to come out? Can you out-collide me? A cayenne of this size would easily handle such a small car, wouldn't it?
Of course, Charles would not know that the woman in the car, Molly Bloom, was the same woman Charles had seen at the poolside earlier, the one Tobey Maguire had thrown tips at her feet.
