Chapter 47 - CH.46

The Defense classroom no longer smelled like garlic, and any remnants of Quirrell's presence was gone. Potter stood in front of the classroom, his smile not quite meeting his eyes. Harrison could have sworn he saw a flash of anger flash through the Professor's eyes, but he brushed it off- it could have been his imagination, but he also knew Potter would have to be extremely careless to let his prejudice slip.

He sat next to Draco, pulling out his textbook from his book bag. His fellow Slytherins kept their heads down, talking in hushed voices while the Gryffindors talked loudly, laughing and throwing paper airplanes across the room.

"As I'm told, Quirrell began teaching you about vampires before he left… I'm going to talk about greensparks and the smokescreen spell since some of you will turn out evil and will need it in the future, just in case."

Harrison raised his hand, "Professor, we're a bunch of eleven-year-olds, first years, and you're already assuming some of us are already evil… You're not serious."

"Ten points from Slytherin," as all Professor Potter said, ignoring what Harrison just said.

"Besides some of us are… Especially coming from someone who went to Azkaban for murder," He heard Saeviour say snidely.

"Like I was saying before I got rudely interrupted… Smokescreen will particularly be useful if one of the Slytherins decides to get you in a duel in a corridor and you need a way to escape, or send green sparks when they decide to attack without any reasoning."

Harrison raised his hand up once more and Professor Potter ignored him, continuing on with his lecture.

He waited until the professor stopped speaking before he talked aloud, "Sir, can you stop saying that Slytherins will attack any house without any reasoning behind it… Besides, other houses would do it also."

"Slytherins are the ones who are always in opposition, hexing anyone without question… Twenty points from Slytherin for telling a teacher that they're wrong, speaking out of turn, and a detention tomorrow night."

Harrison's gaze turned murderous, his fingers itching to get to his wand and shout the one spell that he wanted to say- but he wouldn't. He wouldn't lose his control. He wouldn't go out and blow his cover and give Dumbledore a reason to toss him back into Azkaban, not when the teacher was just to provoke him into proving that he was dark.

Draco mouthed, "Who in the merlin's name does he think he is?" HIs hands grabbed tightly around Harrison's wrist, forcing Harrison to keep his cool.

The rest of the lesson went off without much of a hitch. After the lesson, that was when everything settled in. The Gryfffindors walked away with smiles and laughters after earning about a hundred points while the Slytherins lost the same amount of points, frowns and murderous looks towards the Gryffindors, even Harrison looked pissed and looked like he was about to do something stupid, and possibly might earn another one-way ticket back to Azkaban.

Draco kept his grip on Harrison's black sleeve as his classmates slammed into his shoulder, disregarding where they were heading, as they headed down the stairs, smiles, conversation and laughter following behind them. Unfortunately, Harrison was just standing right at the window, staring into space, green eyes swirling with something that Draco didn't really want to know as magic crackled around them, daring to be able to destroy something or hurt someone.

The temperature decreased droply that it made several classmates scuttered away from them, anxious to get out of the cold section.

Draco waited a couple of minutes, hoping that whatever Harrison was dealing with internally would pass. After a couple of very long minutes, it was obvious that Harrison couldn't do it on his own and that there was an increasing possibility that he was about to hurt someone, so he did the one thing that came to his mind.

He had to take Harrison to his godfather.

He dragged Harrison by his sleeve, down the stairs, nearly taking two steps at a time, speed walking until they got into the chilled, dark dungeons. The torches cast an orange glow against the walls, creating long shadows as they tracked more into the dungeons until they got into the potions' classroom.

Draco didn't bother to knock, and instead went in with Harrison behind him.

"What is the meaning of this?" Professor Snape asked, his onyx eyes flickering up towards the doorway where Draco and Harrison were standing. "What happened?"

"We just came back from Defense," Draco admitted without hesitance. "Potter took about a hundred points away from us for nothing, and gave Harrison detention tomorrow night for asking questions…" He gestured towards Harrison's raveled appearance, whose green eyes shone brightly more than usual, the magic whipping around them wildly, daring to be let out. "He'd never been like this before.. I don't know what to do."

"Take him to my office," Professor Snape told them.

Draco pulled Harrison into Snape's office, forcing Harrison to sit in a chair. Draco stood right next to him, concerns showing on his face. Snape came in a few seconds afterwards with a vial of Calming Drought in his hands.

Draco watched as his godfather poured the vial down Harrison's throat.

It only took a few minutes for the potion to take effect, the magic becoming less intense around them, and Harrison became less visibly angry.

"I'm so glad you're alright," Draco told Harrison. "I was so worried."

"I'm fine," Harrison said darkly, standing from where he was sitting, "Now… If you don't mind me, I have other business to attend to."

He was about to put his hand on the doorknob when Draco interrupted,

"That's not going to involve a dead body is it?" Draco inquired, wondering what on earth his friend was talking about. He had no idea if his friend was about to do something incredibly stupid, or was about to kill a certain professor.

The corners of his mouth turned upwards in response and added dryly, "Funny… but otherwise, no."

"Don't do anything reckless," Professor Snape warned him, "Don't do anything that will make the headmaster suspicious."

Green eyes looked at them,

"Obviously." Harrison paused before looking over his shoulder, "Can you handle my detention, professor? As I have no need to spend an hour with that man, when I have better things to do."

"Of course, be at my office at the same time as your detention."

With that, Harrison opened the door, his cloak billowing behind him as the door slammed shut behind him, that left Draco and Professor Snape in his office.

"He's not going to do something incredibly stupid, is he?" Draco asked, watching the empty space.

"I don't know…" His godfather told him, "Just make sure he doesn't do anything reckless for the remainder of the term… I don't think this will be his last breakdown, but he needs to be careful if the headmaster gets word of it."

"Right…"

Dread coiled in the pits of his stomach as he knew deep down how much the headmaster would want to get rid of the ex-prisoner and throw him back into Azkaban, if he really wanted to.
