Chapter 44 - FHSP Chapter 43: The Sword of Termination, Enki

Fuyuki City, Miyama Town.

It was midnight, and the usually bustling daytime streets were deathly quiet. Fearing the recent string of mysterious explosions, residents had heeded the authorities' warnings to stay indoors. Not a single car was in sight; the black asphalt lay pale and ghostly under the hum of the streetlights. This desolation created an eerie illusion of being trapped in another world.

"Caw—!"

A sudden, harsh cry shattered the silence. It was the sound of a crow, a traditional harbinger of ill omen. A whirlwind of black feathers erupted as hundreds of crows swirled in the empty street. After a brief, collective shriek, they vanished as quickly as they had appeared, their task complete.

At the center of where the vortex had been stood a cloaked figure in deep blue. He looked toward a nearby luxury mansion and whispered softly.

"I'm loath to intervene midway, but I did give him my word..." He seemed to be justifying the move to himself. "Besides, a little nudge shouldn't count as breaking the trial, should it?"

With that, he vanished, leaving the street to its cold silence once more.

Clatter—

The desperately thrown magic spear ultimately failed to pierce the seventh petal. It fell, powerless, to the desert floor. The bronze shield, having barely held its ground, shattered into motes of light and dissipated. Unlike the "pirated" version projected by Archer (EMIYA) in other timelines, this genuine Rho Aias had successfully halted the Gae Bolg: Soaring Spear of Striking Death.

"Though you are yet weak, your combat was valiant. I shall acknowledge you as a hero of legend." Gilgamesh looked up at the silver-haired figure descending from the sky and let out a delighted laugh. "However, the sin of offending a King must be paid with your life."

Dozens of golden ripples manifested around him, aiming at the falling Kamitani Yuu.

In that split second, a pale silver blur flashed beside Gilgamesh. Arthur, holding the Sword of Promised Victory high, swung downward with crushing force. Gilgamesh didn't panic; he reached into a ripple and pulled out a pair of strangely twisted golden swords, parrying the strike.

CLANG—!

Sparks flew as the blades met. Arthur didn't stop, unleashing a barrage of slashes. To his surprise, Gilgamesh met him with unexpected martial skill, his twin blades moving in a bizarre, flowing style. It was the "Dual-Wielding" Gilgamesh!

With a sudden burst of strength, Gilgamesh repelled Arthur. On the other side, Iskandar's chariot swooped in to catch Yuu, banking in the air to regroup beside the Knight King.

"I am satisfied," Gilgamesh said, a meaningful smile playing on his lips as he gazed at Yuu. "If you wish to save the world, then try to transcend this. Overcome the greatest trial I give you."

With this cryptic declaration, Gilgamesh began to float, ascending high above their heads. He joined his two swords together, and they transformed into a magnificent golden bow: the Sword of Termination, Enki.

This was the world-ending Noble Phantasm named after the god of water, also known as the "Sword of Flood-Calling."

"Now, let this King bring upon you the Final Trial of Humanity with the Sword of Termination, Enki!"

Gilgamesh drew the golden string. Golden cuneiform script rippled outward in circles. As the arrow of light charged, golden wings unfurled on either side of his crimson eyes.

"Look to the heavens! The fire of destruction is full; it is time for the end!"

He released the arrow. It didn't strike the heroes; instead, it plunged into the desert floor like a lightning bolt. With the arrow planted, the Anti-Civilization Noble Phantasm activated.

"The fires of disaster fall from the firmament!" "The wrath of Utnapishtim surges!"

At the edge of the Reality Marble, a star of destruction began to glow. Six pillars of starlight converged into a massive arrow that plummeted toward the earth. An eye-searing light erupted, and a massive blood-red magic circuit expanded across the sky, causing space itself to fracture. The clear blue sky was swallowed by black clouds.

"This is the Great Flood of legend!"

Even though his prana was drained and his spiritual core showed signs of cracking from the strain of the battle, Gilgamesh laughed maniacally.

"Struggle! Resist to your heart's content, mongrels! And then... die in despair!"

A torrential flood fell from the sky, a wall of water—the Surge of Utnapishtim—sweeping across the entire Reality Marble to swallow all life. The wrath of the gods had fallen to judge the world!
