He could always sense that a storm was going to brew when the black cloud finally dissipated. The barrier was a dam holding back fifty years of accumulated tension, secrecy, and hidden threats.
Since during the last fifty years, the demons had been able to easily pass through the black cloud and travel across continents, no one knew the kind of things they had done during this period.
While humanity was locked away in their little corners of the world, unable to cross the oceans or communicate across borders, the demons had enjoyed complete, unrestricted freedom.
