The others couldn't help but to watch in fear as the burning core changes colours from it's heart warming orange colour to a dreadful purple infection colour by the energy siphons from Alison's remains beginning to beat faster. Ezrael fells to his knees dropping his weapons, and punches the ground knowing he had failed to stop this from happening to his kind's protector. The others quickly walked closer, Moria helped him onto his feet as they watch the infected burning core to glow and beat even faster.
"What do we do? Can't we reverse it"
"Maybe if you use your fire, your's and Ezrael can heal it"
But Ezrael shook his head as he shed a tear "nthe burning core's energy cannot be reversed. Even if I lend my fire or your's or any other energy, her energy will remains"
"Then could there be another type of energy to combat the energy Alison used on herself?"
Ezrael almost hesitates to speak looking at the others with great remorse "there... there is a way to save all of Devandia" he turns his body towards the others "in order to combat the energy of the enchantress their must... be a large amount of pure energy within one person as it will be enough to restart the burning core, but not without sacrifice"
Everyone suddenly became speechless after hearing a of sacrifice to save their home, Dani stepped forward to speak first "you mean to tell me that one of us will have to die to save all of Devandia, after everything we've been through all for one of us to die" Ezrael remained silent for a moment "answer me Ezrael, give us all a proper answer!"
Without hesitation Venny stepped forward "Venny what are you doing" she asked.
"What do you mean I have elemental energy flowing within me, I should make my amends"
Ezrael shook his head "unfortunately you cannot do Venny. You have elemental energy flowing within you, but you nearly exhaust yourself all your power is focusing on your body from blades piercing your body, you are too weak to continue any further"
"What do you mea-" Venny started to feel a bit weak, almost falling over but was caught by Dani, Venny felt regret for not being able to sacrifice himself.
"Then I should do it, like Venny I have fire now being my own, just by using simple fire ball spells I was able to create it as my own, creating my own techniques like Jin and Venny. I can do it too"
But Ezrael shook his head again "unfortunately you are too important to the public to announce your sacrifice, it would not go well, and you are not strong enough to combat her energy"
Dani sighs in disappointment, but still helps Venny back onto his feet.
Then someone stepped forward, "then I should do" Gale step forwards.
"Gale no not you" Ralian protesting with Gale's offer as they take off their helmet showing the face to their best friend. "Ralian, I am both a changeling and a shapeshifter, I have both natures and similar qualities, and energy greater than you all. I am pure energy, I am the best option to save all of Devandia" with the others protesting the idea for Gale to sacrifice themselves Gale ultimately walks towards Ezrael despite all their pleas of mercy to worry about their life.
"Azulen, are you sure about this? If you offer yourself to expel yourself as energy, you will die. There is no way for you to come back, let me say this again Azulen, are you sure about this."
Gale nodded without hesitation "Ezrael this is for survival for everyone, not for me, but home". Ezrael hesitates to say something to Gale trying to not let them die to save everyone but Ezrael sees Gale's eyes filled with determination for everyone to live, he sighs, and places his hand onto Gale's shoulder with a calm yet saddened expression "as you wish Alzulen" then backs away.
"Thank you. How do we begin"
"You will need to die in order for your energy to flow from your body before we can use your energy on the burning core"
"I understand" Gale unsheaths their sword and is prepared to do the unthinkable.
But Ralian quickly approaches the two, as she cannot stand seeing her best friend to die in a way she didn't expect "wait there must be another way, to save everyone" tears flowing from her face knowing her best friend is about to die.
"Ralian there is no other way to save the burning core. Dani and Venny don't have enough elemental energy, and you cannot do it either" "And why's that, huh!? You get to sacrifice yourself and leaving us a moment to grieve after we already lost Jin, and now you."
Gale can see the frustration in her face as Gale walks towards her and takes a deep breath "that's because we need you to be the representative to your people"
"What?" Ralian said confused
"When this is over they will know Alison's roots from your people. If words were to come that they caused this to happen then another war will happen, this is what she wanted, a never ending war that will crumble the surface of Devandia. Please Ralian become their shield and heart of your people" Gale placing their hand onto Ralian's right cheek wiping the tears off with their thumb. Before Ralian hugs Gale sniffling her tears. "If this is the last we'll meet each other one last time. Then let me be the one to end it".
Gale nodded and handed Ralian their sword and shield "and I put my full trust in you, always" raising a fist towards Ralian as she grabs Gale's sword and shield "and I will fulfill that part, always" Ralian bumping her fist with Gale.
Backing away from Gale as they put away their shield and any valuable Gale brought along their long journey. Before Gale looks at all their friends they and Ralian had made along the way watching their tears flowing from their faces, even Ezrael feeling sad of the sight of Gale perishing before them.
"It's okay everyone, you don't need to feel sorry about yourself. We all did our part" looking at each of their friends.
Gale looks at Dani sniffling in tears "Captain, I thank you for inspiring me to gain more courage I thank you for that."
Then looks at Venny trying his best to hold back the tears "Venny, though I haven't known you longer, I was thankful to have met you and your friend I will never forget Jin's kindness that brought us all back together even in this difficult world."
Then to Yamma covering her face in tears trying to hold them away, but couldn't as she noticed Gale was looking at her with a calm smile "Yamma, one of my first friends I made for the team, you always had a hidden soft spot for everyone you met."
Then looks at Moria looking away as tears flow through her eyes "Moria, though our encounter went on a rocky start, it was still a pleasure fighting alongside you."
Then towards Ezrael tears flowing from his face for the first time after a long century being alive "Ezrael I would like to thank you, without you helping us we might have not made it during the fight in the dungeon in water. My wisest friend"
Then finally towards Ralian her eyes uncontrollably opened with tears flowing from her face pointing the sword at Gale as she is trying her best not to show weakness towards Gale "and Ralian, my friend, you are always by my side even when my identity was revealed you were harsh but I am sorry to keep it a secret to you all those years ago. I am glad we were able to make up for our mistakes and regain our friendship." Gale nodded as they were ready to give up their life.
Ralian readying a moon beam pointing towards Gale "goodbye Gale. May you find the peace you've been looking for all this time with the friends you've made along your journey" then Ralian closes her eyes, summoning the moon beam onto Gale. As they are feeling the pain along with their life slipping, Gale stands leaning onto the burning core smiling with gratitude thinking their friends will live another day. Before Gale's body fully disintegrates expelling their white pure energy starting to flow into the burning core Gale's armour falls on the ground in pieces as the energy in the burning core starts to change turning Alison's colours into Gale's colour as it stops the beating within the burning core.
Ezrael quickly walked towards the burning core, placing his hand onto it as he feels the warm embrace of his life feeling it once more, but gave a sigh of remorse. "The burning core has stabled... but not without a cost". Then dragons started to fly into the room all of them flying in a spiral circular motion roaring in sync as the burning core started to glow so do the dragons showing their beautiful markings glowing throughout their body. Even Ezrael has his body glowing with markings started to glow, Moria quickly nudge him and gave a signal towards the dragons flying around them. Ezrael nodded as the necklace glowed he transformed into a dragon showing his markings as they glow, and he begins to fly into the air joining his brethren flying into the air almost creating something from their glowing markings. The sight was amazing, but from the lights they see something forming as they keep flying, they all see people being drawn, figures resembling all the people who fought the Enchantress. The dragons were showing a timeline a history of everyone's efforts, endeavor, and uniting as one, even showed a bit of a glimpse into the future, though it was vague. But then all the dragons suddenly flew through a massive hole from the room and flew high into the sky, and the others got curious, Moria quickly used his water warping powers to teleport everyone out of the base. The skies had dawn and they made it far away from the mountain as they see dragons flying, while still glowing lighting up the skies as if they were stars of their own in the sky.
