It was Mark who spoke up; he had recognized what lay ahead even before Suzy did.
"How is a dark curtain appearing here too..."
Up ahead, the dark curtain was still continuing to expand. A chill crept right up Suzy's spine.
Things were taking a turn for the worse—these dark curtains weren't just isolated to a single region.
The nearby soldier overheard Suzy's muttering and looked over in her direction.
"You two have seen this thing before?" the soldier asked.
Suzy and Mark looked over at the same time and nodded.
"Where did you see it?" The cold expression on the soldier's face flickered slightly as he took a step toward them.
Mark shielded Suzy behind him and explained to the soldier, "We saw one on the road last night. We were held up for quite a while too."
The soldier turned his head toward the continuously expanding dark barrier and inquired, "How much do you know about this thing?"
"Not much. Last night was our first time seeing it too," Mark said.
