Suzy lunged forward, reaching for them, but she was a second too late.
Leonard and Thomas had already lost consciousness. Their bodies crashed heavily to the floor. The dull thud struck her chest like a hammer.
Something was definitely wrong here.
What kind of substance could be so terrifyingly potent that it could knock out two grown men like Thomas and Leonard in mere moments?
Shock rippled through Suzy. She immediately covered her nose and staggered backward.
Even she could feel a wave of dizziness washing over her. Breathing became increasingly difficult.
That was only because her body had been strengthened over time by the spirit spring water. Otherwise, she would have collapsed instantly, just like Thomas and Leonard.
The dizziness intensified. Suzy braced herself against the wall, her fingers digging into the concrete. Every instinct screamed at her to get out immediately. But Thomas and Leonard were still down there. She couldn't abandon them.
