Luke told his mother to rest before making his way out of the room. She didn't stop him, as her mind was occupied with worry for Laila.
She didn't ask Luke to help either. Monica was aware of the tension between the siblings. In fact, everyone in the house, including Gustav, had treated Luke unfairly. But Lex and Laila had been the worst.
So, she kept her thoughts to herself and let Luke decide what needed to be done.
"If you feel sleepy, sleep without me, okay?" Luke said from the doorway before stepping out and closing the door behind him.
With a quiet sigh, he headed toward the dining hall, only to find no sign of Laila.
