Draven's lips pulled up into a wide smile when the man walked forward, climbing the stairs of the scaffold. He saw the man's gaze land on Luna. An eerie smile spread across the man's lips, and Draven watched how the girl clutched the side of her skirt in worry before the man looked away and made his way to stand before him.
"Kneel before the scaffold, facing the people," Draven ordered. The man stood before him now, closer to the Beta and the Alpha.
George looked at the king with confusion playing on his face, wondering why the king was asking him to kneel when he had just called him brave minutes ago.
Draven's eyes shifted from his hands to finally meet the man's. His gaze was set and the smile had vanished from his face. "I do not like to be kept waiting," the king remarked with a cold, nonchalant air, as though time was ticking and he was growing tired of waiting.
