Luna didn't know that. All she felt was the heat of embarrassment mixing with a strange, reluctant relief that sat low in her chest, stubborn and confusing. He wasn't angry. He wasn't dismissing her. He was laughing, and for some strange reason, that made the tension in her shoulders ease by a fraction. The tight coil around her spine loosened just enough for her to draw in a breath that didn't scrape her throat raw.
