"I had not really expected that I would make it here, but Mother had asked me to accompany her," Luna heard the man say, and she forced herself to pull her attention back from the other man and focus on her dance partner.
So that was how it was, Luna thought. She guessed she had been right when she thought she'd seen someone who looked like him in the crowd.
Since Luna hadn't been in the ballroom for the first quarter of the banquet, she didn't really know about anything that had happened while she was away—only what her sister had told her earlier.
"And since I was here, I thought to find you, as you said you'd be here," his pale blue eyes looked down at her.
Luna gave a polite smile when she heard the man's words.
