Only this time, he didn't dodge as he stood his ground, causing the goblin to growl out in excitement, already feeling its mace smash the human into a bloody mess.
But just as its mace was about to smash into him, something unexpected unfolded, causing even the goblin boss to grunt in surprise.
Lifting one arm, Ulric caught the mace in his palm, effortlessly stopping the blow as the excess force rebounded back to the goblin, causing it to groan in pain.
Snapping out of its daze, it tried to swing the mace out of his grip in a frenzy, but failed each time.
It was as if it had been lodged into the strongest metal it had ever encountered, as it didn't even budge slightly.
For the first time since the battle began, the contempt in its eyes slowly receded, replaced by a shard of fear.
