Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: Ambush!

[Stay calm, these guys are from a cult. Citizens have the right to kill first and report later. Besides, killing them is a contribution to society. Calm down, calm down!]

Although he comforted himself with these thoughts in his heart, taking human lives with his own hands still made Su Ke unable to remain calm.

While there were occasional fatalities in the underground arena, he had always been a spectator. Even when he experienced some psychological shock, he could quickly recover.

But this time was different. He had personally sent these people to their deaths!

The former was merely watching, like viewing a 3D movie; now he was experiencing it firsthand, a completely different sensation.

Even though he knew killing them wasn't illegal, deep inside, he was still filled with fear and unease.

After standing in place for a full half-minute, Su Ke finally gradually calmed his emotions. Just then, the people from the Security Bureau arrived.

An authoritative middle-aged man stepped out of the vehicle. His eyes were as sharp as a hawk's. After scanning the area, his gaze landed on Su Ke.

This man had been following this competition, so he recognized Su Ke.

"Student, what happened here?"

Su Ke took a deep breath to calm himself slightly before slowly speaking: "These are people from the Evolution Church. They targeted me."

Hearing this, every security officer present widened their eyes, revealing expressions of disbelief, and spoke in unison: "Evolution Church!"

The Evolution Church was the largest evil organization on the entire Blue Planet, with power so vast it was outrageous.

Although various governments had conducted joint operations multiple times, deploying their strongest military forces in attempts to completely eradicate this cult, they had never succeeded.

This cult organization was like tenacious wild grass—no matter how it was eliminated, it would always rise again.

Moreover, according to intelligence, there were even Eighth-Tier experts within the Evolution Church, making them even more threatening.

Additionally, they had the support of demon beasts.

All these factors combined made various governments helpless against the Evolution Church, never able to completely root them out.

After each extermination campaign, the Evolution Church always found opportunities to catch their breath and recover their strength.

They continuously recruited new members, grew larger, and continued to harm society.

Faced with this situation, various governments felt very helpless but had no other options.

Currently, the only thing they could do was launch attacks immediately upon discovering any trace of the Evolution Church, and they had issued a legal regulation: anyone belonging to the Evolution Church, regardless of status or position, could be killed on sight.

However, this law hadn't been very effective because Evolution Church members often hid very deeply and were difficult to discover.

Yet this young man before them had been targeted by the Evolution Church, and had even counter-killed so many of them!

The leader was the director of the Security Bureau, a Third-Tier Second-Degree expert.

Originally, he had nothing to do today, but someone reported that there were spirit users causing trouble here, so he had to come personally.

He could tell at a glance that among these people, two had been Second-Tier when alive.

What he found incredible was that this young man before him, judging by his aura, was only First-Tier Tenth-Degree.

He walked over and patted Su Ke on the shoulder.

"Young man, you're impressive. First, come back to the Security Bureau with us to give a statement. Once we confirm these are Evolution Church cultists, not only will you be fine, but you'll also receive a reward."

Su Ke: "Okay."

Just as he was about to follow them into the vehicle...

Suddenly, a violent alarm sounded!

The volume was loud enough for the entire city to hear.

The director looked at this scene, amazed.

"This... this is a high-level alert. A demon beast attack on the city!"

Hearing the words "demon beast attack on the city," Su Ke asked in surprise: "Demon beast attack on the city! How could such a disaster happen out of nowhere?"

The director frowned and shook his head, puzzled: "I'm not sure either. Normally, demon beast attacks on cities only happen in winter when food is scarce or when demon beast populations are excessive, generally once every three years. But now it's summer, the climate is hot, and most demon beasts can't even be bothered to leave their nests. Logically, this shouldn't be happening."

For some reason, Su Ke faintly felt a sense of unease in his heart. He had a feeling that this demon beast attack seemed to be specifically targeting him.

The director said seriously: "The situation is urgent now, there's no time for tedious procedures. Student, go home immediately. If those demon beasts with special abilities bypass the blockade and infiltrate the city, the consequences would be unimaginable. We must organize patrols immediately to ensure the city's safety. Please be careful."

Su Ke nodded firmly, indicating his understanding: "I understand!"

Su Ke didn't hesitate at all. He immediately transformed into XLR8 and left the scene at maximum speed, sprinting toward home.

At this moment, keeping secrets was no longer important. He just wanted to escape this dangerous place as quickly as possible, avoiding being devoured by demon beasts or falling into the Evolution Church's hands.

Meanwhile, the director quickly issued orders through his walkie-talkie, mobilizing all security personnel to prepare for comprehensive patrols throughout the city.

On the other side, Su Ke ran with all his might, extremely fast. The buildings along the way retreated like phantoms. However, for some reason, the unease in his heart grew stronger.

Just then, a pure white giant net descended from the sky, directly trapping Su Ke. Clearly, this net had been carefully arranged and calculated. Su Ke had been careless for a moment and unfortunately fallen into it.

"I didn't expect that I sent so many subordinates, and you successfully counter-killed them all. I have to admit, you do have some capability, but this is where it ends. Come with me obediently!"

Suddenly, a black-robed figure emerged from the darkness, speaking in an icy tone.

Su Ke didn't want to listen to his nonsense. He used his claws to continuously cut, trying to tear open the giant net.

"It's useless. This net is made from Iron Spider webs. Even a Third-Tier strength-type spirit user couldn't tear it open, so don't waste your energy."

"Originally, I wanted to go to your home and invite your parents out, but I didn't expect so many experts gathered at your house. I had no choice but to ask my superior to trigger the beast tide to lure them away."

Hearing his words, Su Ke flew into a rage: "What do you mean?! What did you do to my parents?!"

"Don't worry, they're still sleeping soundly in their beds at home right now. There are just two more people guarding them. But whether they're guarding or harming them depends entirely on your choice."

"What do you want?"

"As long as you come with me, they won't be harmed."

"Where do you want to take me?"

"To Paradise! The cradle of human evolution! To complete that lighthouse that will soon illuminate humanity's future!"

His tone grew increasingly impassioned, his arms raised above his head, gazing up at the sky.

[Right now, I can only pretend to agree with him first, then confirm Mom and Dad's safety.]
