"Raymond!"
The sharp, exasperated shout echoed through the marble corridors of the residence. Phoebe hurried from one room to another, searching every corner of the enormous estate. The mansion, usually filled with his quiet presence, felt unnervingly empty today.
"Raymond!"
She called again, refusing to give up. After nearly breaking into a run several times, a sudden wave of dizziness forced her to stop. One hand instinctively rested over her abdomen as she drew a careful breath. Pregnancy had changed her body more than she cared to admit. Even searching through the house now left her breathless.
"Ugh! Where on earth is that man?" she muttered, brushing an impatient hand through her hair. "Whenever I actually need him, he disappears into thin air. But the moment I don't, he somehow appears out of nowhere."
