Lu Xize's dark eyes were fathomless. The phone by his ear still hadn't stopped ringing. He let out a long sigh, rose to his feet, and casually tugged at the loose collar of his bathrobe before answering, "Hello?"
Chu Yao also scrambled to sit up, straightening her shirt, which had been pulled off one of her arms. Her face was still beet red as she kept her head down, not looking at Lu Xize.
However, Lu Xize had his back to her, so she wouldn't have seen anything even if she did look.
As Chu Yao finished straightening her clothes, her mind still replaying their intimate moment, Lu Xize's voice reached her. "Sorry, something's come up. I have to go out."
Lu Xize was still holding his phone, his expression already back to its usual neutrality, as if he wasn't the one who had just pinned Chu Yao to the sofa, kissing and caressing her.
Chu Yao froze, her mind seemingly unable to process the sudden shift. She just nodded subconsciously. "Oh."
