The dim yellow light filled the dark corridor with a terrifying atmosphere. The Black Cat stood on the lamp's fixture, its eyes filled with confusion as it watched the human before it.
It had told her the truth about where the Head Nurse was, but the Black Cat hadn't thought this human would be able to see the door, let alone open it.
And now, it was watching with its own eyes as this human walked out of that very door.
She strolled out casually, as if she were just taking a walk.
The darkness in the Black Cat's gaze dissipated, replaced by pure, uncomprehending confusion.
"How were you able to go in, and then come back out?"
In human terms, she could come and go as she pleased. This defied its understanding of reality.
Wen Ying wasn't offended by the Black Cat's question. Instead, she asked back, "Why shouldn't I be able to?"
Who knew the Black Cat would just purse its lips and stop talking.
