Chase Shaw had fewer reservations than Miles Sherman and walked straight over.
He leaped onto the spot where the two were sitting and asked Zoe Pierce, "What's wrong?"
Zoe Pierce looked at him blankly, not understanding why Chase Shaw had suddenly come over. She explained, "Nothing, I just slipped and fell. I'll be over after I finish soothing Nathan Lockwood's spiritual power."
'The three of them probably need it too.'
Seeing that she was indeed fine, Chase Shaw pressed his lips together and walked back.
Her fingers were squeezed a little tighter. Nathan Lockwood asked, feigning nonchalance, "Since when did you and Chase Shaw get so close?"
The intimacy between them was becoming more and more obvious, excluding him.
He was clearly the first one to know her secret, but now he felt less important than Chase Shaw, and even Miles Sherman.
The only one he could compare favorably to was Aaron Xavier.
