An air purifier had clearly been turned on, ready to minimize the impact of any pheromones that might disperse into the air and filter them out immediately.
As she entered the exam room, it was no surprise to find that the doctor was, yet again, a Beta.
This time, however, it was a woman.
Upon seeing Zoe Pierce, she offered a warm smile. "You must be the Omega who came with the team."
Zoe Pierce closed the door behind her, gave a nod, and sat down in front of the doctor. In Interstellar Space, the average human lifespan was much longer than it had been on Earth. Once a person reached adulthood, their appearance would remain unchanged for decades, so Zoe had no way of guessing the doctor's age just by looking at her.
She glanced at the doctor's name tag. "Yes, Dr. Lancaster."
The surname 'Lan' was uncommon, but this was Interstellar Space, so it made sense. After all, the population was vastly larger than Earth's; naturally, you'd find all sorts of last names.
