"Will that work? Wouldn't that be too much trouble for your master?" The old lady was still hesitant. The main reason was that she couldn't rest easy unless the things were in her own hands. If the master had a change of heart and decided not to give them to her, she wouldn't even be in a position to ask.
"What trouble? It's just a matter of me saying the word." Yuan Si made the decision herself. She picked out two pieces of the meat her mother had trimmed and placed them on the left, putting the rest on the right, ready to be taken back later that night.
"I think we should just forget it. It's just this little bit of meat, it's not right to make your master go through all this trouble for us. How about I make it into preserved meat?" the old lady discussed with her daughter.
