The only reason Shen Nian had been following them was to prevent the traffickers from finding a chance to escape. She never expected, however, that a moment of carelessness would lead to her being captured and used as a hostage.
With the trafficker's hands wrapped around her neck, Shen Nian was tense, but she didn't regret her actions.
At least, now that she was the hostage, the little boy was safe for the time being.
'I'm an adult. My ability to protect myself has to be much better than that little boy's!'
"Save the boy first!"
Sure enough, one of the officers who had come to arrest the traffickers had the same thought. Three of them faced off against the trafficker, while the remaining officer picked up the little boy—who had been tossed to the ground and had apparently passed out—and began administering first aid.
"Don't come any closer! One more step and I'll strangle her!"
