"Huo'er, what's wrong?" Miss Lei asked with concern.
Xin Huohuo's heart was still thumping erratically. She wiped her forehead; her hand came away damp and cold. To her surprise, she was covered in a cold sweat.
She looked around. It was still the same exhibit hall displaying life in the early Qing Dynasty. The wax figures were arranged neatly, neither shattered nor alive, but the eerie feeling lingered. She looked at the floor again. Where was the servant girl being interrogated? There was nothing but a tissue dropped by some thoughtless tourist.
"Miss Lei, did you see me acting strangely just now?" she asked, swallowing hard. The experience had left her throat dry.
"No, what on earth is wrong with you? Look at all this sweat..." Miss Lei took out a tissue and dabbed Xin Huohuo's face, but upon seeing how pale she was, she realized something had happened.
